New thread...how shiney!
(and i'm still 'pregnant in aberdeen'!)

Medee Mon 21-Mar-11 13:51:49

Hello, I am also still pregnant in Aberdeen sad

Sapphire1 Mon 21-Mar-11 20:41:39

Will send you lots of baby vibes medee! After the day I've had today, I think I preferred LO when she was in my tummy hehe! grin
So, this meetup...
I'm easy really, any time/day is ok. LNT, do you want to bring DD1? Does that determine what day we meet? We have started going to bumps and babies on a thurs pm if you fancy it aswell...

Sillyness Wed 23-Mar-11 13:13:19

oh medee.... as my dh would say - 'soooon'!

littlenuttree Wed 23-Mar-11 22:29:09

Hmm, the way DD1 was on Sun and Mon, there was no way I was ever going to take her out in public again, but she's been fine again the last couple of days! It's my own fault for saying out loud that having 2 kids was easier than I thought it would be! grin

What about a Weds afternoon and I'll take DD1? Although we're free most afternoons, DH and I are sharing a car at the moment, and Weds is my day to borrow it! But if another day suits everyone else better, them it's not a problem to get the car. Wow, I'm so decisive!!!

Sapphire1 Thu 24-Mar-11 20:14:40

Hehe LNT! Weds afternoons are fine by me. I'm usually at baby clinic til 12, but free after that.

littlenuttree Thu 24-Mar-11 21:46:43

Bugger, I was going to suggest next Weds, but I've just remembered DH has a job interview that day so needs the car! I suppose I could do a totally mental thing and catch the bus with the both of them, although I couldn't guarantee what state I'd arrive in! grin What about next Thurs? Anyone around then?

Sillyness Fri 25-Mar-11 14:28:27

I can't make it then but dont let that stop you!
I've been given sooo many shifts for the next few weeks, but i know they'll dry up soon, so i'm just trying to get on with it. I was, however, absolutley shattered last night!

Karen4007 Fri 25-Mar-11 16:19:49

Thursday morning I am busy and afternoon is Bumps and babies in town, but it is up to you guys. Did you see my Fb messages about Hoodles? That would keep LNT's DD1 amused!

littlenuttree Fri 25-Mar-11 21:23:22

Hoodles is great and would definitely keep DD1 amused, but I think I'd have a breakdown! It's massive and I think she's still a bit small to go in, but she's too big for the baby bit. It'd probably be fine if I could go in after her but with DD2 there too, I think I'd struggle to watch them both. Ceramic Experience is more managable.

Which days next week can everyone manage? I think I'll brave the bus! We're free all day Tuesday and any other afternoon next week.

Sapphire1 Sat 26-Mar-11 22:03:16

You sure about the bus LNT, you're brave! Only thing I have planned is Thurs pm bumps and babies... When's everyone else free? Medee won't be free cos she's got her baybee now, yipee!!

Karen4007 Sun 27-Mar-11 19:53:17

I am free most days, but I am not gonna come out until DD seems better. Hopefully she will be a bit better tomorrow, but am not gonna brave a public place until she has stopped coughing so violently as it is leading to projectile vomiting! Bless her. She is so snotty and when she retches, she can't take a breath in.

Anyway, will come if I can, but make the plans to suit yourselves.

littlenuttree Tue 29-Mar-11 15:26:01

Is anyone going to bumps and babies on Thurs? DD1 and I normally go to a music class on a Thurs afternoon, but it's off this week so I could maybe get my FIL to look after DD1 so that I could come along for a catch-up.

Sillyness Tue 29-Mar-11 16:50:08

I normally would (to be the token 'bump') but am working this week.

Sapphire1 Tue 29-Mar-11 22:06:18

I'm going LNT, would be fabby if you came along!

Karen4007 Thu 31-Mar-11 21:08:51

DD did her first proper giggle today.... she was laughing at me making her stand!

Sillyness Fri 01-Apr-11 22:57:09

I have been going to pregnancy yoga at Queens Cross church on Weds by Judy Cameron (google her, she has a website with different class times and places)

Also, her friend is doing pregnancy massage and aqua-natal classes at the beach leisure centre, though dont think they've started yet. Her name is Jean McConville and i'm sure the beach leisure centre would have more details!

Karen - congrats on DD! Im sure i heard her trying the other day, so im glad she finally got there!

Karen4007 Sat 16-Apr-11 11:41:11

All is quiet....How are we all?

Sapphire1 Tue 03-May-11 22:55:58

Wow, this thread is officially dead lol!

Sillyness Wed 04-May-11 10:22:00

aw...it's not dead! just dormant!grin

how is everybody? i'm offically working considerably less hours now so meet up soon?

Sapphire1 Wed 04-May-11 14:59:16

Ah, so there is someone lurking lol! We've been at the doctors today for a review, as LO is still being a fusspot when it comes to feeding. The conclusion is that she has behavioural issues hahaha! Seriously though, it's driving me nuts, but I think he's right as she doesn't seem in pain anymore. Tis apparently common among refluxers. She is such a diva, can't think where she gets it from grin. Glad to hear you're working less now silly - how are you keeping? Would gladly meet up, seems like it's been ages!

Sillyness Thu 05-May-11 10:07:01

Poor LO!

You up for bumps and babies today? i wonder if Medee has been again since LO came?

Sapphire1 Thu 05-May-11 23:39:11

Ooh sorry silly, just seen this. Hope you didn't go to bumps and babies - wasn't on cos of the election, they told us last week...

Sillyness Fri 06-May-11 10:28:04

No probs, I didn't go...I figured if you saw the message, you'd text me anyway, so all's good!

Medee Fri 06-May-11 17:23:50

Hello, not yet. Won't be there next week, but hope to be there week after next. A meet up either there, or elsewhere would be good.

Sillyness Sat 07-May-11 15:20:24

definately Medee! x

littlenuttree Sat 07-May-11 18:28:18

Yay! The thread's come back to life! grin

Sorry you're still having a rough time sapphire. You seem cheery in spite of it tho, or are you just doolally now? grin

I loved your bump pic on fb silly, looking forward to more! How are you feeling? When's your due date?

How are things with you medee? Hope E hasn't given you any more scary moments.

We're getting on well, although DD2 has been unusually grumpy today, poor toot. Thank god for slings! She's been strapped to me for most of the day, which is actually quite nice to be honest, cuddles on the go! One of my friends is sling obsessed so I've been tapping into her stash!

FIL has said he's happy to look after DD1 any afternoon apart from a Friday, so we're good for a meet-up soon. Really looking forward to it!

Medee Sat 07-May-11 18:53:08

Which sling do you use? I've just got a Kari-Me (a wrap type sling) and it has been really good, though we haven't quite got to grips with it entirely.

Sapphire1 Sat 07-May-11 19:04:46

I'm doolally and just used to it now LNT! grin
Poor DD2, glad the sling helps though. LO HATES her baba sling, £30 down the drain lol! Anyone want to name a date?

littlenuttree Sat 07-May-11 20:08:00

I've got a Girasol, which is a woven wrap but it's quite thick so is boiling in this heat! I've borrowed a Calin Bleu wrap, which is a lot thinner so isn't as supportive, and a Hoppediz wrap which is kind of in between. I only know a couple of carries but use the 'Front Wrap Cross Carry' the most. You Tube is for demos. I haven't tried any others, with her having the splint on I'm not really sure which others I could use. I've also got a ring sling and a couple of buckle carriers! It gets addictive! I find the wrap the best tho.

I know the doolally feeling well, wish I could say it gets better!

Is Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon this week too soon for a meet-up? <desperate to get out emoticon> grin

Sillyness Sat 07-May-11 21:09:53

At the moment I'm free on Tues, however there is the smallest chance I'll be going to London on Tues, but most prob will be here! grin

thanks for liking my pic on fb, i plan to do it again at 30 weeks!

littlenuttree Sat 07-May-11 21:43:30

Aww, that'll be lovely! I love bumps! I did a pic evey week with DD1, but only a few with DD2. I wanted to get professional ones done, but wasn't sure where I'd put them. Not sure what guests would have made of it!

Medee Sat 07-May-11 22:44:37

I can't do next week as my mum is visiting.

Sapphire1 Sun 08-May-11 21:35:11

I can do Tues or Wed. We have weaning class Tues morning, but it will be finished by 12. Tis exciting, will prob start to wean the child in the hope it might help with fussing etc. She is 5 months now and doc has given the go-ahead (we were going to wait til 6 months as per recommendations). Karen won't be able to come next week either cos she's on honeymoon!!! grin Congrats new Mrs! Also belated congrats to Jollysergeantjackrum whose DS is gorgeous (forgot to say earlier)...

littlenuttree Sun 08-May-11 23:03:15

Tues pm is good for me, does mid-afternoon suit?

Can't believe H is 5mths old! Scary! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that weaning sorts her out! grin I found the Annabel Karmel baby and toddler meal planner book really good when I was weaning DD1. Would definitely recommend it.

I forgot to say congrats to Jolly too! My brain is definitely on maternity leave, it's a nightmare trying to remember anything just now.

Sillyness Mon 09-May-11 10:23:44

Congrats Jolly!

So...are we meeting tomorrow then? I'm off all day so just tell me where and when!

littlenuttree Mon 09-May-11 17:57:57

I can meet you silly, will only have DD2 with me so can meet anywhere really, would be around 2.30pm if that's okay? I'll text sapphire to see if she can manage.

Karen4007 Tue 10-May-11 17:52:48

Hope u guys had a good meet up. I went to see DH in the hospital (great honeymoon) but DD was a royal pain in the bum and I had to leave early!

I have 'unweaned' DD/ the HV told me she was ready and when it came to it, she was not interested at all, so am gonna leave it til 6 months now too... not long to go til that now. She seems to be looking at us if we eat with our hands, so I think she may go straight on to finger foods. I made a load of Ananbel Karmel stuff and she would not have any of it Grrrr.

Hope DD is ok Sapphire. Maybe she is so used to being sore when eating etc. that she is suffering from flashbacks, or just scared to eat. DH has gone down to 10 stone as he has been too sore to eat... and there's me trying desperately to shed some lbs!

Anyway, hopefully will make it to B and B this week but will depend on what the hosp says. Visiting is 2-4, so if he is still in will prob have to skip it.

Anyway, wedding was good, shame about our honeymoon, still will have to have it later on...Just like wills and Kate lol x

Sillyness Tue 10-May-11 19:20:39

Nice to hear from you Karen. Pass our regards to your new DH!!!!! How exciting! Can't wait to hear about the wedding!

The meet up was lovely...thanks to Sapphire and LNT for meeting.

Ineedacleaneriamalazyslattern Tue 10-May-11 20:41:03

Hi everyone i'll need to try and see you guys at some point too! It's been ages. Sammy is well and truly a cruising baby now he is pulling himself up at everything. I can't pick up his mess as fast as he can wreck things now.

Karen4007 Tue 10-May-11 20:58:19

Ha ha Ineed... I am dreading that stage... I can't even cope with my own mess. Even after our shortened honeymoon I can not cope with all the washing...let alone the unpacking etc...

Glad the meeting went well.

Dh still in hosp, can not find what is wrong with him, so waiting for MRI scan now, fingers crossed... Honeymoons suck when your new DH is in hospital, but at least DD is keeping me busy!

She has learnt to caterpillar round the room on her back...so nothing is safe now....that is in reach anyway, but I left a floor quilt on the table and there was a toy thing hanging off it and dangling down, so she got that off the table and with it my hair brush and sun glasses which both got a munch... I was only gone about 4 mins to hang up the washing!

Hope to see some of you soon x

Medee Fri 13-May-11 11:49:09

Hello all, waved my mum off yesterday - was very handy having her around! She's back in 3 weeks.

Hope all is OK with your DH. Sorry I missed an opportunity to meet LNT's DD2.

Medee Thu 19-May-11 21:10:36

Hi all, Sapphire and I compared diaries and came up with Monday 6 June as a possible meet date. How does that sound to everyone?

Medee Mon 06-Jun-11 09:24:43

Bumping this for Katie.

Look forward to seeing you all this afternoon.

Sillyness Mon 06-Jun-11 15:45:01

How was the meet up folks? x

Sandilj Mon 06-Jun-11 20:20:51

Any one preggers out there looking to hook up for some tip sharing ??

Live in the city centre, 25 week with twins

Sillyness Tue 07-Jun-11 13:11:15

Hi Sandilj,

I'm 29wks preg with first child (a boy!)

A few of us meet at bumps and babies on Thursdays at 2 in queens cross church if you're interested? (Mind you, I'm the only 'bump' who goes as everyone else has had their babies now!!)

Sandilj Tue 07-Jun-11 21:59:18

Grand, can't make this week but will Try for next, good shout

katiekindles Wed 08-Jun-11 21:26:11

Hi everyone! Im 32 weeks preg. The bumps and babies sounds good Sillyness - im still working at the mo, 3 weeks to go though so i will come along in a few weeks. Its handy for me as i stay in Gt Western Rd so not a far walk (or waddle!!)

Sillyness Wed 08-Jun-11 23:20:04

Cool, well, see you both soon then!

Medee Mon 13-Jun-11 13:23:42

afternoon all! E and I went along to a different baby and toddler group this morning, also at Queens Cross Church, in the main hall. A bit more toddler than baby, but a friendly bunch of mums, and a lovely sing-song at the end. We'll be back. It's 9.30-11.30 and £1.50.

Medee Mon 20-Jun-11 16:32:04

And another one to report - went to Little Lambs at Bon Accord church on Rosemount Viaduct on Friday morning. Really lovely welcoming group, nice safe area for the babies, and another lovely sing-song at the end. 9.45-11.30 and £1. Term Time though, so only another 2 weeks left.

Sapphire1 Tue 21-Jun-11 20:35:43

9.30 in the morning, are you insane medee?! grin
Welcome newbies, hope to see you soon! I always forget this thread is here, must come to check more often. When shall we have another meetup ladies? Sadly, I will not be around for much longer - got to go back to Yorkshire cos we've run out of money sad Please don't mention on fb cos I've got people from DHs work on there, and they don't know yet...

Medee Tue 21-Jun-11 21:58:00

It's an early start but worth it to get the day going!

Sorry to hear that, need to squeeze in lots of meets before you go.

Medee Wed 22-Jun-11 14:50:49

Nearly New Sale 20th August - I might actually be able to make this one http://xa.yimg.com/kq/groups/18564189/1039634964/name/POSTERAug2011.pdf

Medee Wed 22-Jun-11 14:51:02
Sillyness Wed 22-Jun-11 14:51:49

Ahhh, Sapphire!!!! How long have we got?

Sillyness Wed 22-Jun-11 15:03:51

20th aug!!!! that's my due date! how annoying!

Medee Wed 22-Jun-11 16:46:34

surely that will get you to the front of the queue!

Sillyness Wed 22-Jun-11 17:51:25

I might try that!
Shopping trip early am, elbows at the ready...the adrenalin should get things going!!! wink

Medee Fri 24-Jun-11 16:00:51

Thought I would flag this up for anyone who is interested in Baby Sensory www.satrosphere.net/Visitors/Baby-Sensory_305.html. It's on a Saturday so good for getting the dads involved too. I've signed up for the July and August date (MrM will take her on his own so I can go to the NNS in August!)

Philz Mon 04-Jul-11 10:11:43

Thanks for above link! Im away that weekend but have signed the hubby up for the baby sensory... It's gonna be really nice for him to do something with the wee man! I've not been on here for a while but I'm currently off on maternity looking after my 5 and a half month old.. Quite active in bumps and babies so if any if you are going, I have probably already said hello! If you haven't come along but fancy it, just drop by whenever you fancy.. Because its drop in, some weeks it can be quiet with only 5 or 6 mums and other weeks we're bursting with bubs! Anyway, the more the merrier so do come and say hello if you find yourself with nought to do on s thurs afternoon from 2-4!

Just downloaded the mumsnet app for the I-phone.. Pretty good and I'm much more likely to use and follow now I can access affectively on the phone!

JoyMG Thu 06-Oct-11 19:26:05

Hi there does anyone know of any groups for young mums in Aberdeen? Looking for a group for a teen mum with other girls her age? Thanks

Medee Sun 09-Oct-11 23:21:13

Hi Joy, I'm afraid i don't, but didn't want your post to go unanswered. I haven't met any teen mums at the groups I go to, though I know she would be more than welcome at e.g. Bumps and Babies on a Thursday at Queens Cross Church.

Medee Sun 09-Oct-11 23:23:23

PS everyone, next NCT NNS is 26 November.

Sillyness Thu 20-Oct-11 18:44:24

Thanks Medee! will be there!

bonbonpixie Sat 10-Dec-11 23:43:44

Hi ladies, totally new to all of this being pregnant with my first - 18 weeks at the moment and due in May. Anyone else out there live in Aberdeen and pregnant at the moment?

Medee Sun 11-Dec-11 20:40:30

welcome bonbon and congratulations! My wee girl is 8.5 months now can't believe it!

TweetiePie1980 Fri 06-Jan-12 22:39:16

Hello everyone, I'm new to Mumsnet and this is my first post - I have a wee girl, 10 months old and due to her arriving 2 months early I never got to my antenatal classes to meet any other mummies! We stay in Bridge of Don, anyone in that area? Its getting a bit lonely being a stay at home mum (as much as I love it!) xxx

Medee Wed 11-Jan-12 13:04:42

Hi TweetiePie and welcome. My wee girl is 9 months old. I'm closer to town, near the hospital.

sandra841 Wed 01-Feb-12 17:27:50

Hello everyone, Im new here and due in July with my first. live in manofield

Medee Fri 03-Feb-12 21:48:34
