meet up anyone?

(30 Posts)

Hi I've been around mn for ages and we have done meet ups many times in Bristol but I thought I would see if there was anyone new around who might like to meet for coffee during the day or a wine in the evening?

We have a fb group that we generally organise meet ups on do if you're interested post here and we'll get together smile

Ooh 'ello - I used to come to the meet-ups a few years ago but fell off the radar as DS became too hooliganesque for my café habit.

He's in preschool now so I might give it another try with not-hooliganesque-yet baby DS2.

I don't think I'm in the fb group anymore so please can I rejoin? Shall PM smile

EwanHoozami Sun 30-Sep-12 13:04:18

blush I just spotted that I'm still a member! I shall keep my eyes peeled for meet-up plans <anticipates cake>

Hello! Could I be added to the group please? I am a fan of all beverages. grin

BabiesNeedInstructions Mon 15-Oct-12 01:04:33

Yes please, can I join too? Great idea.

bookwormthatturned Tue 16-Oct-12 20:13:59

Sounds good - with impeccable timing I joined the fb group just as I was finishing maternity leave and so have never got round to doing anything other than lurking confused. But, now with a marginally better grip on life I'm def up for meeting - as long as small hooligans are also welcome smile

WheresMyBrandy Tue 13-Nov-12 11:29:59

Hi everyone. Can I join the fb group please? I wiould also love to meet for wine and coffee!

MeandMilo Tue 13-Nov-12 16:06:47

I've been lurking around for a while (about 9 months of pregnancy) and am definitely interested in meet-ups!
I have joined the meetups pages on here but nothing seems to be happening yet. What areas are people in/can get to?
I'm in Brislington but do drive so can get to most places.
How do I find the FB group?

WheresMyBrandy Tue 13-Nov-12 16:13:24

I'm in Downend/Staplehill don't drive but very happy to catch the bus!

We should sort a regular coffee morning once a month somewhere!

blondiedoll Tue 13-Nov-12 16:27:22

Hi, can I be added to the fb group also?? I am very keen to enjoy beverages grin

WheresMyBrandy Tue 13-Nov-12 16:32:04

Hello lovely Mumsnetters!

Your fellow Bristolian and Local Editor here. I'll be taking on the job of running this site, and promise to put all my energy or that which remains with a baby that never sleeps into making it, well as bloody brilliant as I know(with your help) it can be!

So happy that you are arranging a meet up smile and on that subject; I'm still on the hunt for Local Ambassadors... These are people like yourselves who will be in charge of arranging a monthly meet up, pretty much what you are doing now but you will have your own page which will make it very simple, and as a thank-you thanks you will have your very own LA card<preen> which will entitle you to a few discounts or freebies.

If you might be interested please let me know(and spread the word!)

We also have new Facebook and Twitter pages so please like/follow!

Thanks

P.S If you stumble across any glitches on the site let me know, we're almost there!

Dear WheresMYBrandy,

Thanks for your message. I had a look on the local meet up link, but couldn't find any further info.
I am in Chew Magna, but often travel into Bristol. Where do you, and other mums meet? Would be fab to meet new peeps.
smile

MeandMilo Mon 19-Nov-12 10:35:46

I am the Local Ambassador for Brislington but am having some trouble with the meet ups pages. While this is getting sorted shall we try to organise a Bristol-wide meet?

Does anyone know of any Mum and Baby friendly cafes that preferably has lots of parking/on a bus route for us all?

Also, what days do people prefer to meet?

I would prefer a Thursday or Friday lunchtime but can do other mornings...

WheresMyBrandy Mon 19-Nov-12 10:45:53

Yes I'd love to do a Bristol meet up, there is a christmas meet up on the 8th down the water front. Can't remember all the details I will go and ask around.

I can't do lunch times I work part time and finish work half 1ish then school run at 3:15.

Maybe a saterday afternoon in softplay hell or a meal out on an evening? If it was summer we could of had a massive picnic in St Andrews/blaize/snuff mills.

I did have an idea that we could all do a bookclub and meet once a month for cake and what the new book will be?

BristolLEd Mon 19-Nov-12 15:26:46

Thanks WheresMyBrandy, you've inspired me for potential LA privileges...I'm off to visit a bookshop smile

WheresMyBrandy Mon 19-Nov-12 15:46:24

Bookclub is a really good idea glad I inspired you grin

546chewy Sat 08-Dec-12 21:53:57

I am new to this messaging process, and I am not sure how to PM my real name to be added to facebook.
I am keen to meet up with other mums for a natter, and share toddler time.
I am free to meet in Bristol or Bath. I've missed today's meet up.
Would it be possible to post where mums are meeting on this thread also? x

BristolLEd Sat 15-Dec-12 11:42:59

Hi 546chewy how old is your/are your kids? I have a 1 year old and am thinking of arranging a meet up at Kuda Kan a new soft play just of the Gloucester Road, it does good coffee and cake!

sociablemum Thu 17-Jan-13 19:54:35

Hi to everyone! I have not been on MN as much as I would like. I am not from Bristol originally and I am finding things slightly difficult. I have been in the Army and the transition to finding new civilian friends I find is a bit hit or miss! I also want to start up my own business in nutrition and weight loss and would like to get a shake party organised who would like to sample what it is I do, but I really want to find some friends and maybe even some guinea pigs who wouldn't mind trying it for themselves?
I am around North Bristol area near Parkway Station if anyone is interested in meeting up for a cuppa and a chat!? :-)
Kind regards to everyone!
