I have home-made gingerbread men with wobbly Ribena icing if anyone wants to join me?

Becketts Wed 28-Nov-12 19:47:28

Hello! Why doesn't this show up on my active convos? Anyway, I think I spoke to you before the new local pages were set up, the DDs and I are frequent visitors to the crocodiles. Was very muddy last time we went.

How do you make wobbly Ribena icing?

Crocvillagemum Sat 08-Dec-12 17:12:17

Hello becketts! (Eau Rouge as was? I'm getting a bit of a motor racing vibe...)

Wobbly Ribena icing is normal glace icing made with Ribena and icing sugar instead of water and icing sugar, and applied inexpertly with a kids' icing syringe.

Let me know if you are croccing anytime soon. I is a lady of leisure on maternity leave at present, so generally around and about!

Becketts Sun 09-Dec-12 11:38:12

My motor racing-themed disguise has so far fooled a total of zero people grin

Is there anything on at the croc farm for Christmas? Last year they went so overboard that we couldn't afford to go.

Crocvillagemum Sun 09-Dec-12 15:30:43

I dunno as there is this year. They did a lot for the Jubilee and I'm not sure last Xmas's efforts totally paid off for them either. But I haven't been for a few weeks. Likely to have lunch there Tues (just me and DD) as I'm having the kitchen redecorated and can't face trying to heat soup or make sarnies while dodging Dulux Trade drips. So will report back! (Or see you there if you're around?)

Crocvillagemum Tue 01-Jan-13 23:09:17

Is there anybody there?...

Becketts Wed 02-Jan-13 17:27:57

I'm alive, I survived Christmas! Still up for a meet up? Someone from St Ives just posted. How do we organise a proper meet up? I'm so confused by all this new local stuff.

Crocvillagemum Thu 03-Jan-13 06:23:07

Yes indeed to the meet up! Dunno how to organise though. Is there a meet up board? <shuffles off to look>

Crocvillagemum Thu 03-Jan-13 06:30:31

<shuffles back> no, there isn't. I guess we just have to try to divert traffic over here!

Crocvillagemum Thu 03-Jan-13 07:13:21

Oh dear, I am thick. Have just read the FAQ for Local and they say this is the place to organise meet-ups! <shuffles off to bang head against large haddock>

Becketts Thu 03-Jan-13 07:43:18

So we're none the wiser then? grin

JoandRo Thu 03-Jan-13 11:41:45

Well, you've successfully diverted me here, so here I am, the St Ives (ish) person. Have just found out that one of the houses we love might not be for sale any more so we might be in our village a bit longer... well, we shall see, and I can still zip along the busway.

I do work full-time with Thursdays off but I can be quite flexible most weeks. Where is fun to meet? (I don't have a car but I'm very good at buses).

Becketts Thu 03-Jan-13 13:14:21

Oh crikey, I've got no idea about bus routes. Is Huntingdon Garden and Leisure on the route from St Ives-Huntingdon? I think it might be. That would be good for a meet up, there's a cafe and a small play area that's undercover so even if it rains the children could play outside while we eat cake.

JoandRo Thu 03-Jan-13 13:54:25

Ah we love Garden and Leisure! I think it is too, though I'm not sure where you can get off, but DH can always drop me off (he likes it there and also likes to go walking in Houghton so could combine...)

Crocvillagemum Thu 03-Jan-13 21:16:34

Hunts G&L works for me - plenty of pushchair space, reasonable coffee, and stuff to keep toddlers entertained. Thursdays it would just be me and DD. And would need to be before mid-March as I am probably returning to work then. (Don't work Mondays or Fridays though!) Think there's a bus stop opposite?

Becketts Thu 03-Jan-13 21:31:34

How's this month looking? I'm having surgery at the end of the month so will be recovering for half of February.

Crocvillagemum Thu 03-Jan-13 21:42:28

No probs at this end for a Jan meet-up. (Hope the surgery.is nothing serious!)

Becketts Fri 04-Jan-13 08:09:26

Depends how you mean by serious- it's not life threatening but am seriously nervous!! It's just clearing up a few battle scars. And by 'battle' I mean 'childbirth'.

JoandRo Fri 04-Jan-13 09:23:19

eek...I mean, I'm sure it will be absolutely fine. I'd say that means you definitely should have some cake very soon.

I could do the 17th or the 24th, in the morning?

Becketts Fri 04-Jan-13 10:02:25

I think I can do the 17th in the morning, got to go for a hospital appointment in the afternoon though. Will check what time. 24th no good for me, I've got a dentist appointment at midday.

This is starting to make me look like a hypochondriac grin

Crocvillagemum Fri 04-Jan-13 10:16:27

17th ok for me too.

becketts, you'll be fine. (Going to Hinch?) I had back surgery in 2011 - not at Hinch mind you - and was bricking it, but all was well. (And waking up from the general anaesthetic and shedloads of morphine was awesome... Pink fluffy clouds weren't the half of it.)

Becketts Fri 04-Jan-13 10:49:42

I'm not going to Hinchingbrooke, DH has insurance through work so I'm going to the Fitzwilliam in Peterborough. It's like a hotel there grin I like the sound of the drugs! Terrified of having general though, I've never done it before.

Crocvillagemum Fri 04-Jan-13 14:03:40

Don't freak the GA. It's not like in the films (mask descending etc)! You get the cannula put in your hand/wrist/arm, they administer the anaesthetic, ask you about your holidays (or they did me, anyway) and the lights went out after about 4 seconds.

Becketts Fri 04-Jan-13 14:56:14

I know a lot of people freak out about waking up in the middle of the op but I'm panicking more about not waking up at all! So glad it's just day surgery so I'll be home the same day if all goes to plan.

Crocvillagemum Fri 04-Jan-13 20:15:06

becketts, it's understandable to be apprehensive but really, don't be. Modern anaesthetics are v reliable. I had two GAs in 2011 (back surgery and then ERPC) and felt fine each time. So will you be!

So, are we on for Thurs 17th?

JoandRo Sat 05-Jan-13 09:30:28

I am up for it - I'll have to check out the bus times so I'll get back to you about exactly when.

Becketts, I've had quite a few GA including one emergency one (with CS for DD) and they have all been absolutely fine, even the emergency one, waking up feels so nice and drifty...

Becketts Sat 05-Jan-13 09:51:49

Have to admit it will be nice to wake up feeling nice and drifty instead of thinking 'bloody hell, is it time to get up already?' grin

MudcakedBoots Sat 05-Jan-13 11:27:19

Hi, thanks for directing me over here croc! I can't make a meet up on the 17th but if you meet up again in future then let me know - I'm a new mum living in Milton and currently on maternity leave. Good luck with the op becketts.

Crocvillagemum Sat 05-Jan-13 22:02:06

joandro, if you're coming in via the busway I could always pick you up from the St Ives P&R if that helps? I will have a toddler car seat free as DS will be in nursery.

JoandRo Sun 06-Jan-13 14:00:00

Ooh that's really kind of you. Tell you what, I'm trying to find out now what the buses are like, as it would be great if I could get there with her on my own (as she loves the pets etc). If it turns out to be a hideous nightmare then I will come crawling get in touch. Is that ok?

Crocvillagemum Sun 06-Jan-13 21:40:44

Sure!

Becketts Sat 12-Jan-13 12:53:56

I have seen so many people on chat etc over the last few days say that they live in Cambridgeshire. Shall I do a spreadsheet? grin

Anyway, the 17th is still fine for me. How about everyone else?

Crocvillagemum Sat 12-Jan-13 21:22:46

Yep, still game on here for 17th. What time? Guess it depends on joandro's buses.

Becketts Sun 13-Jan-13 07:46:00

Dunno, are we doing coffee or lunch? I can be there any time but have a hospital appt in Peterborough at 3.30.

Crocvillagemum Sun 13-Jan-13 23:09:52

How about late coffee and/or early lunch at 11.30 - 12? Should give you plenty of time to get to P'boro.

Crocvillagemum Sun 13-Jan-13 23:15:08

And how will we know each other? I don't have a Mumsnet scarf, Fly knee boots or a North Face gilet. Probably best for you to look out for the haggard thirtysomething with short brown hair and a female baby (Micralite buggy). Possibly wearing long North Face coat with furry collar. (And maybe knee-high DMs.)

Becketts Mon 14-Jan-13 07:53:59

I have a black North Face parka, I'll wear that. I also have DMs and no mumsnet scarf. Will have both the DDs, 4yo and almost 2yo. I'm early 30s, long, dark hair, knackered-looking grin

Shall we aim for a table in the corner near where the toys are?

Crocvillagemum Mon 14-Jan-13 20:18:44

Sounds good. See you there.

JoandRo Wed 16-Jan-13 11:33:20

oh crap, this wasn't coming up in my active conversations so I had assumed nobody had written on it. Argh.

DD is ill, has been vomiting all night - she did seem ok this morning but has just thrown up all over her dad dodged a bullet there so I think we are going to have to give tomorrow a miss. Unless you fancy a bit of vomiting? I'm really disappointed.

I had figured out that I could get the guided busway to Hartford Marina and I think it's possible to walk back to HG&L through the Marina and then crossing the road - so could do again if you fancy it, some time soon?

Hope you have a good time; Becketts hope the appointment goes well tomorrow.

Becketts Wed 16-Jan-13 18:05:58

Right, are we still on then? Think it's just the two of us, Crocvillagemum.

JoandRo Wed 16-Jan-13 20:18:26

I am so jealous. Please have some cake and think of me covered in vomit watching yet another episode of Maisy sodding Mouse.

Crocvillagemum Wed 16-Jan-13 21:11:15

I'm still on for it! Sorry to hear you're in the middle of the Barfchester Chronicles, joandro. A touch of norovirus, perhaps? Grim. Hope she gets better soon.

JoandRo Fri 18-Jan-13 21:42:20

how did it go? Did you meet up?

Crocvillagemum Sat 19-Jan-13 20:26:12

Yup! Twas very pleasant and hopefully becketts agrees! Planning to do it again vaguely soon. How is your house move coming on?

Crocvillagemum Sat 19-Jan-13 20:27:09

And has your DD stopped hurling?

Becketts Sun 20-Jan-13 08:46:02

Croc, didn't you get my PM saying that I hated you and never wanted to see you again? wink

Yes, we had a lovely time, too bad your DD was ill Jo- hope she's feeling better soon!

JoandRo Sun 20-Jan-13 20:21:22

Ah, ace, glad it was good and I hope I will be allowed to join in if you do it again even though I was crap this time.

DD is fine; well, she's got a cold now, but she isn't vomiting. In fact, she hardly threw up after I posted. I did think about bringing her along anyway so you could start an AIBU about me bringing a just-stopped-puking toddler along to infect your kids.

Becketts Sun 20-Jan-13 21:00:39

I don't think I will ever, ever start a thread in AIBU. grin

Crocvillagemum Mon 21-Jan-13 11:59:28

I did once start a thread in AIBU. It came out 50:50 but I still bear the scars from the dissenting 50%!

Right, am off to harness my huskies the cats to DS's plastic toboggan in an effort to get out of my driveway.

Becketts Mon 21-Jan-13 12:28:34

I got a flaming once just for a throwaway jokey comment (it wasn't inappropriate!), I only comment now if it's something really safe like a disabled parking thread.

Crocvillagemum Mon 21-Jan-13 14:03:12

There was one recently about SEN, where I genuinely wanted to ask some questions (as someone with no experience whatever of SEN) but it was all kicking off and I didn't fancy having someone rip me a new one. Better to sit back and watch others catching it, Christians-to-lions-stylee.

Crocvillagemum Tue 12-Feb-13 14:34:24

Anyone up for a coffee sometime soon?

Toriv Thu 14-Feb-13 22:33:55

I'm in. I don't drive though so does depend on location. DS is in preschool Tuesday and Wednesday mornings but pretty flexible on days otherwise.

Crocvillagemum Thu 14-Feb-13 22:57:06

Depends if you want to be with or without DS I suppose! Which venues are doable for you? Tap Room is a favoured haunt in St Ives proper...

Becketts Mon 18-Feb-13 16:49:33

Argh, this keeps dropping off my 'threads I'm on'. Yes, am up for coffee soon, I'm all mended grin I can't do this week, I'm on stand-by for baby sitting duty for my friend's DS while she's in labour with DC2.

Crocvillagemum Wed 20-Feb-13 09:57:43

Ok, how about a week Thursday?

Becketts Wed 20-Feb-13 10:04:51

28th? I've got a dentist appointment in Huntingdon, I'll check what time. My last one got cancelled and I've got tooth ache so I can't skive off. I'm free next Friday and then the following Mon and Tues.

Crocvillagemum Wed 20-Feb-13 10:13:47

Any day works for me TBH. Just varies as to which DC I have on the day!

Becketts Wed 20-Feb-13 10:16:00

Is Johnsons closed on Mondays?

Crocvillagemum Wed 20-Feb-13 13:22:01

Unfortunately yes sad

Becketts Wed 20-Feb-13 14:22:59

Gah, everything's closed on Mondays! We went to Hinchingbrooke on Monday forgetting that the cafe was closed- no tea and cake for me sad

Where are you based, Toriv?

Crocvillagemum Thu 21-Feb-13 10:22:57

It's a nightmare isn't it, the Hinch CP cafe being shut on Mondays! Alternatives are, I guess, Frosts in Brampton, HGL again, Crystal Lakes, Leo's Funzone or somewhere in St Ives proper. Anywhere else?

Becketts Thu 21-Feb-13 13:47:02

I think you've covered everywhere! There's a Leo's in Huntingdon as well. I've never been to the St Ives one, is it good?

CambridgeMinor Thu 21-Feb-13 18:57:55

Hi, thanks for the heads up Crocmum.

The Leo's in Huntingdon is meant to be much nicer than Crystal Lakes. Have never been, but am often found loitering in both the above garden centres.

Shame there aren't any child-friendly cafes in St Ives, they're just too small for pushchairs, although Slepe Hall fits quite a few in.

Becketts Thu 21-Feb-13 20:27:50

I've never been to Crystal Lakes. The Leo's in Huntingdon is very nice though, never too crowded and very clean. I don't know St Ives very well so can't help there. There's a nice cafe with a small soft play in Sawtry but that will be a trek for everyone except me grin

Crocvillagemum Thu 21-Feb-13 21:10:18

I've been to both Crystal Lakes and Leo's. CL is bigger, but the food is deep-fried crud and it's a tiny bit more grimy (not that I particularly mind either of those factors). DS will probably cling to me and refuse to play in any event!

GinAndIt Sun 24-Feb-13 19:26:57

Hello? Can anyone join this thread? I was looking for info on meetups on the cambridge board but nothing doing and then saw this.

<offers gin>

Crocvillagemum Sun 24-Feb-13 20:54:29

Hello it. We like gin!

Becketts, has your friend dropped yet?

Becketts Mon 25-Feb-13 07:08:59

Yes, last Tuesday. I had a scary drive to Somersham in the fog at 4am (suicidal muntjacs). Can do Thurs or Fri this week.

Becketts Mon 25-Feb-13 10:31:16

Scratch that, I've got the dentist on Thurs.

Crocvillagemum Mon 25-Feb-13 21:32:57

I can do Fri but I warn you now: I will have DS with me. He is 3, and will have spent Tues, Weds and Thurs getting knackered at nursery. So on Fridays, he may be angelic. Or he may be the mardiest little gobshite that ever there was. Just in case anyone is tempted to comment unfavourably on my abilities as a parent twould be fair enough actually.

CambridgeMinor Mon 25-Feb-13 21:40:17

Friday sounds good, although my DC1 currently does half days at nursery school which has been really restricting how much we can get out and about.

CambridgeMinor Mon 25-Feb-13 21:49:44

There will be no judging, honest!

Crocvillagemum Mon 25-Feb-13 22:03:58

Thanks minor!

Relatively amusing incident at Anglesey Abbey today. DS was getting a bit skittish after finishing his lunch in the cafe, while I was trying to get some more grub down DD's cakehole. Two terribly genteel-looking ladies at next table, complete with cats'bum mouths. One of them glared at DS (who really wasn't being that bad) and muttered (voce not very sotto) "These young mothers who don't control their children properly". I gave her a big smile and said "ooh ta, it's ages since anyone called me young! I am nearly forty you know..." And then buggered off to the bogs grin

GinAndIt Tue 26-Feb-13 08:00:09

if anyone is around to meetup on a monday or tuesday let me know. have to pick up ds from school in the afternoon but mornings are good?

Crocvillagemum Tue 26-Feb-13 09:00:53

I can do Mondays always (with the aforementioned DS and DD), and Tuesdays (minus spawn) until mid-April (when maternity leave finishes). And I want to get in as much coffee and cake as I can before I go back to work!

Becketts Tue 26-Feb-13 09:45:58

I'm free Monday and Tuesday.

GinAndIt Tue 26-Feb-13 12:32:29

yay! would anyone like to meet up next monday or tuesday? preferably somewhere with nice cake smile

Becketts Tue 26-Feb-13 13:55:30

I'm free either day. I'm not sure which places do nice cake, other than Johnson's. Have you got transport or are you relying on buses?

GinAndIt Tue 26-Feb-13 15:37:24

I have a car so only restricted by having to pick up ds from school at 3.

Crocvillagemum Tue 26-Feb-13 20:24:40

Frosts do very nice cake. I'm happy with either day.

GinAndIt Wed 27-Feb-13 07:27:20

shall we say monday then? Morning would be better for me if that's ok. Erm, where's frosts?!

Becketts Wed 27-Feb-13 07:51:55

Frosts is in Brampton. I've never been but I might go on Saturday morning, James Wong is doing a thing there.

Crocvillagemum Wed 27-Feb-13 13:46:04

Monday morning it is then? Assuming I can get DS to cooperate! Ooh, I heart James Wong a little bit. Might go too on Sat.

Crocvillagemum Wed 27-Feb-13 13:46:59

It, Frosts is just over the RAF Brampton roundabout, if you know where that is?

CambridgeMinor Wed 27-Feb-13 14:51:48

Monday mornings are usually good, but not next week, so enjoy your cake ladies.

Never heard of James Wong or the term ethnobotany before, but have just spent a productive 20 mins on Wikipedia so feel I've learnt something interesting even if I can't make the meet up.

Crocvillagemum Wed 27-Feb-13 16:36:29

Could we all make Tues instead then? Does that work for you minor?

GinAndIt Wed 27-Feb-13 16:47:44

have googled it and know where i'm going. is tuesday at 10 ok?

CambridgeMinor Wed 27-Feb-13 19:59:45

I can't do Mon/Tues/Weds next week as have visitors staying, but do go ahead and meet if you've got the momentum up - and if you have another I'll insist it's on a day that suits me smile

Crocvillagemum Wed 27-Feb-13 20:45:36

Shall we go back to Monday then - tempted as I am to vote for Tues as I'm without the sprogs then (but at risk of people thinking I'm embarrassed to be seen with them!) Please can we do 10.30, I know from bitter experience than 10am is a bit challenging for us grin

Becketts Thu 28-Feb-13 08:09:18

DH has got a hospital appointment on Monday morning so he'll need the car. It's at 9am, not sure what time he'll finish. Tuesday looks free for me.

Crocvillagemum Fri 01-Mar-13 23:06:42

Tues ok for you, it? I can do any time apart from 5pm when I'm going to get smeared.

GinAndIt Sat 02-Mar-13 08:27:47

Tuesday is fine smile 10.30?

Becketts Sat 02-Mar-13 11:11:51

Tuesday at 10.30 then? Where are we meeting again, Frosts? Must restrain myself from shopping, I spent £25 at Hunt. G&L yesterday and I only bought a few seeds and bits and bobs blush

Crocvillagemum Sat 02-Mar-13 14:35:29

Frosts, Tues, 1030 hours. Roger.

Becketts Mon 04-Mar-13 21:30:20

See you guys in the morning then?

GinAndIt Tue 05-Mar-13 08:14:15

yep, i'll be wearing a dark blue coat and jeans and carrying a stroppy toddler. she's tantrummed since she got up this morning so it should be interesting!

Becketts Tue 05-Mar-13 08:39:51

I'be got a stroppy 2yo so we'll be in the same boat grin I've got long dark hair and a green coat and will have 2 yo and 4 yo DDs with me.

Crocvillagemum Wed 06-Mar-13 11:29:14

Lovely to meet you ladies yesterday. (And I found some Naga jolokhia chilli seeds too, excellent!) Hope you all have a good week with your DCs smile

GinAndIt Wed 06-Mar-13 16:53:43

Yes I enjoyed it toosmile and Amy had a 2 hour afternoon nap when we got home, bonus!

Becketts Wed 06-Mar-13 17:20:16

When's the next cake meet up then? grin

Crocvillagemum Wed 06-Mar-13 20:54:18

Whenever you like! Shall we try Johnson's and suffer Death By Chocolate cake?

Becketts Wed 06-Mar-13 21:09:17

Absolutely, I want a re-match against that cake. This time victory is mine!

Crocvillagemum Wed 06-Mar-13 21:54:36

Looking back upthread there were a couple of others keen for a cake session. I'll PM them as and when we moot a date.

CambridgeMinor Thu 07-Mar-13 11:05:07

Was going to pop along as turns out visitors had made separate plans for lunch that day, but then DS2 developed croup in the night.

We've not had it before, I didn't even know it was something you could get in this day and age, but I have read Anne of Green Gables often enough to be a little anxious... Anyway, he was fine but we stayed at home to recuperate.

Crocvillagemum Thu 07-Mar-13 11:23:57

Ooh minor, your poor DS! Quick trip to OOOGP for steroids? All the mums I know have had at least one kid who's developed it. Not mine though, yet wipes brow How's he doing now?

CambridgeMinor Thu 07-Mar-13 16:12:11

No, thanks, luckily wasn't bad enough for the GP. It was just the one bad night of barking. My mum was staying over and thought she'd heard a fox in the night, but assured her it was just DS2.

godolphinarms Fri 08-Mar-13 14:01:08

hi, tentatively sitting on the edge of the bench... I'm St Ives way and have two DCs.

Becketts Fri 08-Mar-13 14:11:27

Hi godolphin <waves>. I'm in Sawtry, I have two DDs. Would you like to come to the next meet?

MyFancyPants Fri 08-Mar-13 22:13:12

I've only just noticed this thread, but I am near to St Ives and have one dc.

Crocvillagemum Fri 08-Mar-13 22:55:28

Hello pants and godolphin. Hey, at this rate we'll soon have enough for a game of five-a-side! I live just south of Warboys and have one of each flavour DC.

GinAndIt Wed 13-Mar-13 16:34:10

anyone around for a meetup next monday or tuesday?

Becketts Wed 13-Mar-13 16:56:01

Both are free in my diary. Shall we do Tuesday? Loads of things are closed on Mondays. Do you know Johnson's?

GinAndIt Wed 13-Mar-13 18:51:20

No, whereabouts is it?

Crocvillagemum Wed 13-Mar-13 21:20:01

I can do Tues :-) May give DS a treat and keep him out of nursery.... Johnson's is in Old Hurst. The one with the crocodiles.

Becketts Wed 13-Mar-13 21:44:37

Johnson's. Let's hope it's playground weather!

CambridgeMinor Thu 14-Mar-13 08:37:14

Hello, is 10.30 still a good time for people?

Becketts Thu 14-Mar-13 09:57:31

10.30 suits us.

Crocvillagemum Sun 17-Mar-13 19:52:45

Hi all. Unfortunately I can't now come on Tues - rescheduled ultrasound appointment (no, don't get excited - it's to look for gallstones). I'll see you at the next one. Don't forget your shovel for the cake!

Becketts Sun 17-Mar-13 19:56:50

Are you going to find out if it's a boy gallstone or a girl gallstone?

Sorry you can't make it, we'll do another one in a couple of weeks.

Crocvillagemum Sun 17-Mar-13 21:59:04

I suspect I may well have one of each. Or even quads.

Becketts Sun 17-Mar-13 22:18:45

I shall start knitting cardigans for them.

Becketts Mon 18-Mar-13 08:22:06

Uh oh, I may have to cry off. DD2's been up all night with a D&V bug and it's still going on this morning sad On the plus side, I'm really glad that I was waiting for the summer for potty training...

CambridgeMinor Mon 18-Mar-13 08:45:18

Sorry to hear that Croc, that can't be pleasant.

Hope your DD is feeling better soon Becketts and also that you don't get it.

Anyone else around tomorrow or shall we postpone?

GinAndIt Mon 18-Mar-13 18:59:30

I don't mind postponing if it's easier. Amy is having a strop over every little thing at the moment so keeping her away from other people is probably for the best at the moment!

JoandRo Wed 20-Mar-13 14:34:00

oooh did you postpone? I was away visiting my parents but I'm back now...

GinAndIt Sat 23-Mar-13 07:10:25

well I didn't go because of aforementioned stroppy child hmm so will hopefully make next meet up.

I would also like to suggest a meet up of a evening. In a pub. With gin wine
refreshments grin

Becketts Sat 23-Mar-13 09:00:25

I didn't go either, I was too busy cleaning up poo. A pub meet-up sounds good!

Crocvillagemum Sun 31-Mar-13 20:53:09

Hi all. Hope all is well! Pub meetup sounds good and DH will have to wrestle DD on his own, hehe . Any ideas of a date?

GinAndIt Tue 02-Apr-13 13:28:18

Don't mind really <helpful> although would prefer a friday or saturday evening. I can't do the last 2 weekends in april but if we meet up on a weekday evening then I'm easy.

Hope everyone had a good easter. Dd has started the holidays in style by getting chickenpox so the last few days have been fun hmm although i get to escape to work the rest of the week whilst dh looks after the kids wink

Becketts Tue 02-Apr-13 13:31:35

I have no idea either, any night will be inconvenient for the DCs and DH so makes no difference to me grin I'll be driving so off the sauce anyway.

Where does nice food? That pub in Abbot's Ripton has just re-opened but think it's a bit pricey. Or are we just doing drinks?

GinAndIt Sun 14-Apr-13 10:17:22

Hello? haven't posted in a while because of easter hols and being mega busy with the kids.

Food and drinks would be good grin If we meet nearer to huntingdon then I'll be driving anyway so don't mind which day really.

Anyone up for a daytime meetup again?

Becketts Sat 20-Apr-13 11:01:52

Argh, why does this never pop up on my threads I'm on?

Yes, up for a daytime meet. Prob not next week though, I'm on new meds and the side effects are awful. Which days are best for you? We could meet at Hinchingbrooke now that the weather's better.

GinAndIt Sun 21-Apr-13 12:45:00

Hello, i can do tuesdays, hopefully the weather will stay nice!

Hope you're not feeling too bad sad let me know when's best for you to meet up.

Crocvillagemum Sun 21-Apr-13 20:44:31

Hello! This also doesn't show up on "I'm on". Sort it out MNHQ!

I am back to work this coming week sad so will be limited to Mondays and Fridays here on in. Any good for anyone?

Becketts Sun 21-Apr-13 20:54:24

Now it's showing up on threads I'm on hmm Mondays are usually good for me, and some Fridays. Hope going back to work goes OK!

GinAndIt Tue 23-Apr-13 09:50:58

i can do mondays if thats better for everyone, just not next monday. i can do next friday but will be childfree as i have next week off workgrin

Crocvillagemum Thu 09-May-13 15:00:35

Yo dudes. Anyone still here and keen for a meetup, with or without gin? (I mean the clear spirituous liquor, obviously - not you, gin, we want you there!)

Toriv Mon 20-May-13 19:51:59

Sorry i haven't been back been a crazy few weeks. I have a 3yr old boy and an 8 month old little girl. I am in St Ives but don't drive which makes things slightly more difficult. I would be up for a daytime or evening meet up. If the weather is nice Houghton Mill is fabulous for a cream tea. X

GinAndIt Tue 21-May-13 21:26:29

yup, i'm still up for a meet up!

MrsA03 Sun 26-May-13 06:03:30

Hey everyone! I've wandered down from the Peterborough group - nothing happening on there. I have a 13 month old and am pretty much free all the time. I am however child free on Thursdays - just so you know I'm not doing an "About A Boy"! I do drive and have a car. Anyone fancy meeting up?

GinAndIt Sun 26-May-13 21:49:55

Welcome MrsA03! I can't make it this week because it's half term and dh is looking after the kids (yay!) and i'm working, but am free the week after on monday or tuesday.

MrsA03 Wed 29-May-13 11:30:18

Can do Monday lunch, LO has swimming lesson at 3pm

GinAndIt Wed 29-May-13 18:29:47

monday is fine for me. where shall we meet?

MrsA03 Thu 30-May-13 12:15:18

Don't really know! Where's best for you? As long as there's parking and high chairs and good (ish) coffee. I have sat nav. Shall we say 12-12.30pm? Eldest & friends are off to London on the train, so I need to make sure they manage to get up and out

GinAndIt Thu 30-May-13 20:54:19

is Cambridge ok for you? There's a place called livingstones cafe on regent street that's supposed to be good for children.

MrsA03 Thu 30-May-13 21:08:45

Cambridge is a bit too far as I'm in Peterborough. Whereabouts are you? We can see what's in the middle

GinAndIt Thu 30-May-13 21:40:57

How about Frosts garden centre in Brampton? we met up there a couple of months ago and it has an area that the children can play in.

MrsA03 Fri 31-May-13 11:54:59

That sounds good to me, straight down the A1 smile I'll aim for 12pm but might be a little bit after. I've got a red & black 3 wheeled buggy with bright coloured soft dolls each side. I'm 5'10" with brown/purpley bobbed hair and will probably be wearing my red coat or a cardigan (dependant on the weather). See you on Monday, have a good weekend smile

GinAndIt Fri 31-May-13 18:31:22

ok see you then. I've got brown hair probably tied up and a blue coat. I'll be near the playhouse in the corner. smile smile

GinAndIt Mon 03-Jun-13 10:25:07

I'm sorry MrsAO3 but I can' t make it today. I've had to pick up ds from school, he's been sick sad really sorry it's such short notice, hope u see this in time!

MrsA03 Mon 03-Jun-13 10:46:34

Ok, no probs, hope he's better soon

Becketts Mon 03-Jun-13 19:14:51

Can I gatecrash if you organise another meet? Hope your DS is better soon, Gin.

GinAndIt Mon 03-Jun-13 20:24:11

Course you can Becketts smile No sick since about 4 pm so hopefully thats the last of it!

MrsA03 Tue 04-Jun-13 08:39:55

Hey Becketts! Next week any good for anyone? Am free all day - Tuesday & Friday and Wednesday from lunch

Crocvillagemum Fri 07-Jun-13 15:45:43

Argh, why does this never show up on my I'm On? I could have done today!! Anyone up for next Fri?

Crocvillagemum Fri 07-Jun-13 15:47:39

Ah MrsA03, I guess you are? For some reason I thought today was next week in terms of date (if that makes sense...which it probably doesn't confused)

Becketts Fri 07-Jun-13 17:47:58

Arse, I don't think I can do next week now.

MrsA03 Tue 11-Jun-13 07:12:33

Friday 14th anyone? Where do you want to meet? If anyone's free today, we are too smile

GinAndIt Tue 11-Jun-13 09:24:09

hi I'm free today if you want to meet up at frosts? about 12ish?

MrsA03 Tue 11-Jun-13 10:02:38

Brilliant smile see you then

GinAndIt Tue 11-Jun-13 10:11:09

ok I'm julie btw and I'm wearing a red and grey striped top. I'll try and sit near the play area smile smile

MrsA03 Tue 11-Jun-13 11:12:41

Hello Julie, I'm Kathryn. I've got a pinky/purple jumper & black trousers

Crocvillagemum Tue 11-Jun-13 12:31:25

I can do Fri 14th if anyone else wants to...

GinAndIt Mon 01-Jul-13 13:03:24

Anyone free tomorrow? I thought maybe Hinchingbrooke country park?

CambridgeMinor Mon 01-Jul-13 19:37:22

I'm free tomorrow morning if you're still going?

GinAndIt Tue 02-Jul-13 08:13:27

what time can u meet CambridgeMinor ? I'll probably be there about 10 or 10.30. sorry to be a bit vague but am potty training dd at the mo and don't like to leave the house until she's at least had a wee! hope that's not too early. x

CambridgeMinor Tue 02-Jul-13 09:08:56

Likely to be there around the same time, so shall we meet at the playground? I'll have 2 small boys with me and probably be wearing a light coloured mac. (Am hoping you're not someone I've already met, as am rubbish at remembering names and faces.)

GinAndIt Tue 02-Jul-13 09:16:30

I don't think we've met! anyway, I'm wearing a blue coat with a peachy coloured top and will have dd in a buggy with me. am hoping to wear dd out so she sleeps on the way homegrin

Crocvillagemum Tue 02-Jul-13 14:30:16

Argh, this never shows up on my active list! sad

Though I am at work anyway today sad sad

CambridgeMinor Tue 02-Jul-13 18:50:04

Well, I've not been around for any of the other meet-ups so thought I'd just seize the moment...

Sorry you missed out this time Croc, but my Fridays will be mainly free after mid-July, so how about then?

Becketts Fri 05-Jul-13 09:17:37

Bugger, I missed it as well! I wish this showed in active convos, I always forget to look.

MrsA03 Tue 09-Jul-13 21:58:54

Hey everyone!

Anyone free tomorrow (10th July)?

Crocvillagemum Tue 05-Nov-13 22:09:58

Anyone fancy a cuppa sometime soon?

Notagymbunny Wed 06-Nov-13 11:32:57

I finish at the gym 11am mon/tue/fri (hunts one leisure) & could to a meet up in one of the cafes
Note: I am not skinny or Lycra wearing just desperately need to fit into work clothes before a complete wardrobe replacement is necessary. It's not working my love of cake is too strong

Notagymbunny Wed 06-Nov-13 11:33:26

Mon/wed/fri not tues

Crocvillagemum Wed 06-Nov-13 12:39:41

I can do Mon and Fri each week. Will have the spawn in tow though!

Notagymbunny Thu 07-Nov-13 20:06:11

I'll have 6mth old with me
How long do we wait for others to respond?

Becketts Fri 08-Nov-13 07:54:45

I have a working car now! And DH is away all next week so would love to meet up.

Becketts Fri 08-Nov-13 07:55:48

We could meet at Leo's maybe?

Crocvillagemum Fri 08-Nov-13 08:04:57

Monday probably better for Leo's - gets rammed on Fridays. Plus, did you know that the playbarn at Crystal Lakes has reopened? We're going to check it out today.

Becketts Fri 08-Nov-13 08:23:03

I've never been, is that the one in Hemingford?

Becketts Fri 08-Nov-13 08:24:34

Anyway, I'm free on Monday if anyone else is.

Crocvillagemum Fri 08-Nov-13 14:41:58

Fenstanton, at that fishing place. Went this morning - it's had a good wash and brush up, and looks really nice!

Becketts Fri 08-Nov-13 14:54:40

Sounds good! We went to Paxton Pits with some friends today, started raining when we arrived and stopped just as we were leaving. Gah!

Notagymbunny Fri 08-Nov-13 16:39:46

I can do Monday & have car (for once) so if you prefer play barn that works for me.
Has their cake improved along with the deep clean?
I can be there for 11.30

Crocvillagemum Sun 10-Nov-13 08:28:45

Yes, the cake looks pretty good. (Well, DS had a homemade chocolate cookie which was rather nice.) Fenstanton play barn at 11.30 then? Could have lunch too.

Notagymbunny Sun 10-Nov-13 10:58:15

Ok see you there tomorrow. I'll be the person with the black buggy with pink stars on the cosytoes & probably still pink from the gym

Becketts Sun 10-Nov-13 17:28:20

We'll be there! I'm the haggard one that looks like she's at the end of her tether. Two DDs aged 2 and 5.

Becketts Sun 10-Nov-13 17:46:34

5 year old has drawn all over her face with biro and it's unlikely to come off before tomorrow so we should be easy to spot.

Crocvillagemum Sun 10-Nov-13 22:11:16

Ha! I've got short reddish hair and eyebags and will have two short blond gollums children with me.

Crocvillagemum Mon 11-Nov-13 10:59:58

Argh, it's shut! Going to Hunts Garden & Leisure instead.

Notagymbunny Mon 11-Nov-13 12:22:06

nearly called in there on my way back from finding it shut.
even goggled it last night to check!

Becketts Mon 11-Nov-13 12:30:16

Becketts Mon 11-Nov-13 12:36:18

No, it wasn't you. blush

Notagymbunny Mon 11-Nov-13 13:07:56

did you just ask a stranger if they were notagymbunny? smile

Notagymbunny Mon 11-Nov-13 13:08:52

back home, baby sleeping & theres no cake in the house

Becketts Mon 11-Nov-13 16:11:02

Not quite, I asked her if she was meeting anyone and she said yes and named her friend (who wasn't me). So I shuffled off muttering something about the internet. I'm sure she didn't think I was a weirdo or anything.

Notagymbunny Mon 11-Nov-13 16:45:06

Sounds a bit like a chat up line

Becketts Mon 11-Nov-13 16:56:39

Maybe I made her day then grin

Crocvillagemum Mon 11-Nov-13 20:14:21

Really sorry about this morning nota. Next time I'll check that the wretched place is open!

Notagymbunny Wed 13-Nov-13 21:37:34

No probs, I checked the times for play barn, just didnt realise there was a name change!
