Anywhere - apart from the Arndale :D - would be fine!

Let's have a brew one morning.

Beeanka Tue 29-Jan-13 10:00:04

How about Tuesday 5th at 11am?

EmilyButtonsMum Tue 29-Jan-13 12:47:08

It is near to the Arndale but we really dont have to go in smile Unless you can think of anywhere else, i was thinking of ease of buses for non drivers smile

Medi89 Tue 29-Jan-13 19:27:35

Emily - I'm up for that - where is coffee republic???

Is it close to Debenhams????

Tuesday 5th at 11am Yes!

Medi89 Tue 29-Jan-13 19:28:56

How are we all going to recognise each other?

Copies of The Times?

Flowers in button holes?

Or do I just shout out: "Oi! EmilyButtonsMum?" :D

EmilyButtonsMum Tue 29-Jan-13 21:02:49

Ha ha...shall i wear the mumsnet scarf?

EmilyButtonsMum Tue 29-Jan-13 21:03:37

Coffee republic is nearer to Boots than to Debenhams smile

Medi89 Tue 29-Jan-13 22:42:15

Anyone else going to join us?

It's fun, meeting strangers!!!

Beeanka Wed 30-Jan-13 01:37:19

Medi89 Wed 30-Jan-13 22:34:26

(I won't be wearing one :D)

Beeanka Thu 31-Jan-13 21:28:11

4kidsandrising Mon 04-Feb-13 03:27:53

I shall try and make it, but it depends on whether I get my assignment done or not!! I'll be easy to spot as I'll be in a mobility scooter. They're a bugger to get in places though, so I may have to park it and get out! In which case you'll spot me as I'll have a black duffel coat with a red heart pin badge on it! grin

EmilyButtonsMum Wed 06-Feb-13 08:25:10

Ok so i turned up at just after 12 confused Sorry.

I am willing to give this another go and i promise to actually read my own arrangements before i leave blush

Beeanka Wed 06-Feb-13 14:59:10

Medi89 Tue 12-Feb-13 14:00:38

That was great to meet up.

Look forward to the next one & hope we get a few more people turning up.

EmilyButtonsMum Tue 12-Feb-13 15:14:54

It was great...we will have to recruit a few more smile

JenWren32 Tue 19-Feb-13 19:12:30

I'm moving to Eastbourne at the beginning of March and I'd love to meet up with you guys. Are you planning to do it again? I don't know anyone in Eastbourne so I'm looking to make some new friends for me and for Mia who is 15 months old.

Jen :-)

EmilyButtonsMum Wed 20-Feb-13 19:28:48

Hi Jen,

We can arrange another meetup when you are settled in smile

Medi89 Thu 21-Feb-13 09:37:39

And hopefully it will be warmer & maybe we can meet in the park??

EmilyButtonsMum Thu 21-Feb-13 11:24:16

Good idea, then the children wont be so restricted, If we make it Gildridge park we can still have a coffee smile

JenWren32 Sat 23-Feb-13 17:15:53

Hi Emily & all,

Gildridge park sounds good to me and hopefully it will warm up soon. We had a wander through the parks near us and I think that was one of them, there was a cafe with little baby cars outside it, was that the one you meant? If not there then I'm happy to meet elsewhere.

Ok great, we're moving on 1st March so after 4th I am free to meet up.

Jen x

EmilyButtonsMum Sun 24-Feb-13 14:19:39

Hi Jen,

I think that the park with the cars may be Hampden park? There is a lake there where people go to feed the ducks.

Either way we will find a park to meet up smile Hope that the move goes smoothly. Where are you moving from?

Medi89 Sun 24-Feb-13 18:56:48

i also think you are thinking of Hampden Park, Jen.

Gildridge is not far from Waitrose - dare I say that? :D

Good luck with the move - do pm me if you want any Eastbourne info, but am not up to speed with schools as my DS is nearly 32!!!!

aufaniae Sun 03-Mar-13 00:42:45

Yay, Eastbourne people! <waves>

Gildridge Park is lovely smile The cafe by the tennis courts is amazingly child friendly.
They make lovely cake on the premises, the coffee's good and they have loads of toys in the cafe and also tractors etc outside. We spent lots of time there last summer smile

Or there's the cafe by the playground too, no idea what it's like though, I've not been in there since it reopened.

Mellow1975 Sun 03-Mar-13 08:49:25

Hi all
Would love to come and meet you all. I have two boys one is nearly six and goes to school, I also have an 11 month old and have not had as much of an opportunity to make mum friends with young babies. I am 38 and think that meeting up in this sort of group is much more fun than going to mother and toddler groups, hope to hear back soon xxx

aufaniae Sun 03-Mar-13 08:56:41

Hi mellow, we're born the same year smile

Sorry I should have said before, I've got a little boy (4 yo) who'll be starting school in September, and I'm pregnant with a little girl, due in 6 weeks.

EmilyButtonsMum Sun 03-Mar-13 13:24:52

Hi aufaniae and Mellow

Always good to see more Eastbourne people!

So, shall we wait for the warmer weather to meet up? or do you all fancy doing something sooner? I agree that the cafe by the tennis courts is lovely!

Medi89 Sun 03-Mar-13 16:59:30

It is 'supposed' to be getting warmer next week - but I'll believe it when I see it!

EmilyButtonsMum Sun 03-Mar-13 17:19:09

Jenwren32 Hope that the move went smoothly smile

Mellow1975 Sun 03-Mar-13 17:33:24

Hi all

I think we should try and meet soon if the weather is half decent next week lets make a plan. The only day I can't do is Thursday so happy to meet any other day. Once we have all met up once its easier to get together at houses if the weather is poor. By the way there is a new cafe in princes park too, I haven't been yet but from photos it looks like it has more room inside, if the weather is poor,

ESP1 Thu 07-Mar-13 16:19:31

Medi89 Thu 07-Mar-13 16:33:07

ESP1 - Mine are now adult & older than nicolak92 - I went to the last (well first) meeting & it was fine.

ESP1 Thu 07-Mar-13 19:21:29

Thanks Medi89, will come along then!

Medi89 Thu 07-Mar-13 19:48:53

Thanks Medi89, will come along then!

And I aMm looking forward to meeting you.

All we have to do is arrange a day & a time.

EmilyButtonsMum where are you?

(She is the MN amabassador - all hail :D)

Medi89 Thu 07-Mar-13 19:49:29

Am not aMm - so annoying that you can't correct your post!

EmilyButtonsMum Fri 08-Mar-13 09:45:23

Alas medi i am local editor, i'm still looking for a local ambassador smile Baby is teething so have taken a bit of a back seat this week smile

So can we have a count of who is up for meeting please? All welcome, with or without babies smile

Medi89 Fri 08-Mar-13 15:50:14

Editor? Ambassador? It all sound good to me - does it mean you go to MNHQ & drink lots of gin?

I'm up for a meeting.

Hope teeth are coming through OK & not causing you too much lack of sleep.

EmilyButtonsMum Fri 08-Mar-13 17:39:27

I'm much more of a Southern Comfort drinker than a Gin drinker.

Its one particular tooth that is being difficult, she's sleeping ok, she is just very grizzly during the days sad Poor baby smile

Medi89 Fri 08-Mar-13 19:38:18

wine Southern Comfort for you & sympathy for that lovely girl of yours. Hope that tooth pops through tomorrow.

JenWren32 Fri 08-Mar-13 20:41:29

Hi ladies!

We are all moved in and I am now free to meet up! Thanks for all your messages wishing me well with the move. It went ok thanks, still got half the stuff in boxes mind (it's surprising how you don't need half the stuff on a daily basis) but we have all we need out at the moment. I'm hoping to crack on with things at the weekend when my partner is home too.

The park I mentioned was definitely not Hampden Park as we walked through parks near the old town. Perhaps the baby cars I saw were nothing to do with the cafe. Anyway, I am happy to meet wherever. Let's hope that after the rain and the cold snap we're due to have that things improve and we can meet up outside somewhere :-) .

I'm free from 18th March to meet up if you ladies fancy meeting up then?

Jenny xx

aufaniae Fri 08-Mar-13 23:26:57

JenWren32, I reckon you mean the tennis cafe in Gildredge park too! They have lots of ride-on toys and cars for little ones outside the cafe, as well as a small play area inside. And their cake is amazing smile

I'm up for meeting up - however we're doing up a house and moving in the next few weeks and I'm 35 weeks pregnant! So I can't promise anything right now. Having said that, considering neither DS nor I are the most helpful right now, going to the cafe to get out of the way of painting etc might actually be the most helpful thing we can do!

EmilyButtonsMum Sat 09-Mar-13 07:42:22

Hi Jen, Glad that the move went okay.

I agree that you may be thinking of Gildredge park if you were walking around the Old Town area.

aufaniae I cant decide whether you are brave or mad to be doing up a house and moving at that late stage of pregnancy!! Hope that your move goes as smoothly as possible. Are you hoping to move before or after baby's arrival?

Mellow1975 Sat 09-Mar-13 08:19:16

Hi all,
Congrats on your move Jen it's never easy, I moved 5 times in 6 years and have vowed never to move again.
Aufaniae I think you should definitely come and meet us, paint fumes are not good for you smile cake is.
I am for meeting Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays are better days for me, in term time it would be me and my one year old son, holidays I also have my 5 year old son

Look forward to seeing you all whether you have children or not xxx

Medi89 Mon 25-Mar-13 16:32:20

Do you think it will be warm enough to meet by about July? grin

<cabin fever coming on here>

EmilyButtonsMum Tue 26-Mar-13 18:01:54

I'm not convinced that its ever going to warm up this year. Its not the cold that bothers me so much but the relentless greyness sad

Medi89 Tue 26-Mar-13 20:10:48

Yes, it's very, very depressing.

I am a glass half full person. It's going to be a long hot summer.

We'll be meeting up on the beach, come July, & going swimming! grin

(I usually sea swim from late May/early June through to October)

JenWren32 Thu 18-Apr-13 11:35:32

Hi Ladies!

Wow that is a lot of times to move in 6 years Mellow1975, you must be a dab hand at it! We get our sofa's delivered on Monday. Hurrah! I can't wait! Somewhere comfy to sit :-)

Would any of you fancy meeting up next week? Would Friday 26th suit any of you ladies? I had a quick peak at what you wrote previously and Mellow you mentioned you are up for meeting up on Fridays, are any of you free that day?

Gildridge Park cafe has been mentioned a couple of times, maybe we could meet there?

Hope you are all doing ok and enjoying the first few glimpses of sunshine, yay!

Jen x

EmilyButtonsMum Thu 18-Apr-13 19:29:13

26th sounds good to me.

Shall we make it at Gildredge park?

Medi89 Fri 19-Apr-13 11:01:01

So sorry, I will be away & can't make it - but will be up for the next one.
