Thought I'd start a thread to start the ball rolling.

We met last time at the Exemouth Arms in Leckhampton, so unless anyone has any other suggestions, we can do it there again. Happy to go somewhere else though.

Just need to know who wants to go, who wants food and then we can book a date. Yay!

LeGavrOrf Wed 25-Sep-13 20:27:46

I have never been in mumsnet local.
Do these threads appear in mumsnet normal active convos as well?

If not we may just be speaking to each other in hushed tones grin

DollyTwat Wed 25-Sep-13 20:31:55

I have no idea

is anyone there? <echo echo>

I think once we have a date I can set it up as a proper meetup
I'll text a few people, I don't want to look like Dolly no mates

RuthSwinton Wed 25-Sep-13 20:34:52

<Peers in> I heard there was wine on offer!

Not sure what state I'll be in by Christmas - DD having a major op in late Oct, which then requires huge amounts of physio afterwards (at least 6 hours a week, preferably more) and trying to get a bolshy 4 year old to cooperate will be interesting.

I may be fast asleep by 7, or I may need IV wine and cake

LeGavrOrf Wed 25-Sep-13 20:37:59

Ruth! <Thrilled>

That sounds bloody worrying though. You must be scared stiff. I really hope it goes well.

We will look after you though with vino.

DollyTwat Wed 25-Sep-13 20:44:22

We will look after you, you'll be in need of a break by then. A good laugh will be beneficial to your health

RuthSwinton Wed 25-Sep-13 20:46:09

Oh look - I've got my Sunday best name on today! <Wonders how to turn back to my normal self...>

RuthSwinton Wed 25-Sep-13 20:49:08

Confused.

RuthSwinton Wed 25-Sep-13 20:54:18

Waaah! I can't change my name! Anyone know how? I wanna be Galena again!

RuthSwinton Wed 25-Sep-13 21:01:37

I have to email them and ask them to change me... shock

Have emailed, and now I need wine while waiting for me periperi chicken to arrive grin

DollyTwat Wed 25-Sep-13 21:09:53

I'm completely confused starting this thread on my laptop, it looks all different to on my iphone. And the cunting thing keeps defaulting to the local site which seems to be in a world of it's own

PatTheHammer Wed 25-Sep-13 21:33:46

Oh hello you lotgrin

Got text Dolly, I'm there. Will not be bloody driving either!

DollyTwat Wed 25-Sep-13 22:28:37

Yay! Pat there you are!
Ok it's shaping up - can you guys all dm or text the local vipers and see how many we can get

LeGavrOrf Thu 26-Sep-13 07:02:53

Galena! It's you!

Wondered who the fuck Ruth was. grin

This site looks ODD. Why is it mint green?

RuthSwinton Thu 26-Sep-13 08:28:12

It is I, leClerk! <looks shiftily around wearing a dirty raincoat>

It does look very... green over here.

Still waiting to hear whether they'll change my name.

I think I used this name originally when I was fundraising for DD so I could list events we had coming up. Didn't realise it was a forever name!

LeGavrOrf Thu 26-Sep-13 09:57:05

Can't you change your name using that button down there?

LeGavrOrf Thu 26-Sep-13 09:57:41

Hang on I will give it a go

LeGavrOrf Thu 26-Sep-13 09:58:04

Oh well that didn't work hmm

LeGavrOrf Thu 26-Sep-13 09:58:30

Does this come up in active convos on the real mumsnet?

LeGavrOrf Thu 26-Sep-13 10:00:15

Oh yes it does

LeGavrOrf Thu 26-Sep-13 10:00:59

<bores self to death>

Why doesn't that use a different nickname button work then?

RuthSwinton Thu 26-Sep-13 10:15:28

Which 'different nickname' button? confused

LeGavrOrf Thu 26-Sep-13 10:34:10

Below the bit where you type your message, there are two buttons, one convert links automatically and one use different nickname.

It doesn't work in local (there is a stickied thread about it in local) but it does work on the main mumsnet site.

Why in the name of buggery bollocks have they set up the local sites as a completely different site? Why couldn't they just have a local bit within active convos? I will never use this because it's a pain in the arse.

RuthSwinton Thu 26-Sep-13 10:48:40

I only have 'convert links automatically' sad Are you on one of those new-fangled eyepad things? grin

But I agree, this is a real faff so I won't be using it often!

LeGavrOrf Thu 26-Sep-13 11:15:55

Someone just told me it's on the mobile site, not the desktop, so that's why it's not there.

It's strange over here. Looks completely different doesn't it?

Galena Thu 26-Sep-13 14:28:43

<twirls> I feel like myself again!

DollyTwat Thu 26-Sep-13 18:50:17

I don't like this local site if I'm honest
It's all green and forgotten about

As soon as we have a date and place I'll set up a proper meetup thread

So which weekend suits everyone?
I can call the Exmouth and see when they can do if we're all happy going there?

Galena Thu 26-Sep-13 19:07:00

Exmouth is fine. As for weekends, who knows! Just go for one and I'll see if I'm still conscious!

DollyTwat Thu 26-Sep-13 19:19:44

Ok let's just go for it
I'll call the Exmouth over the weekend and see when's good for them. I'll assume about 15 people

So get dm'ing anyone you think might like to come, all welcome

FoxAche Thu 26-Sep-13 19:22:18

Blimey, it's taken me half an hour to find this thread shock At least I'm on the right local site at last, C&G rather than Glos.

A meet-up would be lovely, thanks Dolly, and the Exmouth is nice. Funds are a bit tight so I won't get food, will save my money for the wine.

DollyTwat Thu 26-Sep-13 20:10:24

Yay!
Is this thread showing in active?
The food was good value, think it was chips and stuff.
Would only be about £7 or so
Nice to have something to soak up the wine!

LeGavrOrf Thu 26-Sep-13 22:56:55

This is strange. It reminds me when I went over to gransnet for the day and spoke about tabards.

Any weekend except the weekend of the 14th December when it is my daughter's 18th birthday.

HOW
IS
THAT
POSSIBLE

LeGavrOrf Thu 26-Sep-13 22:57:46

Thread doesn't show i. Active but does show in threads I'm on.

Why doesn't it show in active?

I don't like mumsnet local <folds arms>

HappierTimes Thu 26-Sep-13 23:33:03

I saw this thread in active I am sure yesterday. I would be interested in coming. Where is the Exmouth?

DollyTwat Thu 26-Sep-13 23:46:53

I don't like it either Getorf

I'll sort it, ok so not the weekend of the 14th. Are you invited to the 18th celebrations? <imagines Getorf twerking>

HappierTimes it's the pub on the Bath Road near the Leckhamoton shops. Has a garden outside
It's nice, not too many town drunks (just us)

HappierTimes Fri 27-Sep-13 21:34:48

I must remember to keep up with this thread then smile

DollyTwat Wed 23-Oct-13 18:24:42

Sorry everyone, I've been a bit rubbish lately. I'll get a date sorted
