Looking for a social life in the evenings! LS6

Hi there

I'm an older mum with a 4yo DS and I need to go out of an evening every now and then!

Am going through a rough time with DH and we are socialising separately. Work full time and trying to spend weekend days with family but could do with some lady pals to spend the odd evening with (cinema, drink etc).

Anybody up for it?

Hi Deedee,
Bumping this for you.
I'm in Leeds but I have an 8mth old who still BFs during the night so my evening social life is pretty inexistent at the moment!
Having said that, there's a Leeds meet-up next Tuesday (I'm taking DS with me as it's fairly early). I'll go and find the link for you now.

Here's the link, in case you're up for it smile

Thanks sooo much Gauchita! I'll check it out now....

Deedee66 Fri 27-Apr-12 18:26:32

Hey looks like I might be able to say thanks in person! grin

Gauchita Fri 27-Apr-12 18:31:16

grin
Hope you can make it!
I've never been to a general meet-up btw, feel a bit shy about it, but I'm sure it'll be fun.

Oooh just seen this lol!

I hope to see you next week (provided I can get a babysitter)

Gauchita Fri 27-Apr-12 19:09:18

Oh, Mistlethrush, hope you can make it! How feasible is it for you to find childcare for Tuesday? How old are your DC?

In the meantime, Deedee, if the possibility of then meeting face to face doesn't make you feel a bit shy and you'd like to talk about what's happening at home with DH on here, I'm happy to lend an ear smile (unless you'd rather remain private about it of course).

Deedee66 Fri 27-Apr-12 19:43:57

Oh I hope to meet you too Mistlethrush!

Gauchita I'm sure we won't be the only ones who are a bit shy smile. Ive not been too private so far about DH (as I'm sure you'll see if you track down my other posts) but actually things aren't so bad.... I'll be doing mu best not to bore everyone with it on Tuesday grin

mistlethrush Fri 27-Apr-12 20:36:56

DS is just 7 - so definitely needs somewhere here - and DH is out at a previous engagement so I really need to sort something - our normal babysitter can't make it. Have a second option - and if that's no-go, a potential 3rd one... We shall wait and see.

Gauchita Fri 27-Apr-12 20:56:44

Mistlethrush, keeping my fingers crossed for the second (or third) option to be available for you.

Deedee, in that case I'll run a quick search, so as not to make you repeat things again grin

Deedee (just finished reading)
Jesus, you've been through so much these past months! sad What a rollercoaster for you, and what an emotional and psychological confusion he's put you in sad

Deedee66 Fri 27-Apr-12 23:11:22

Yes it's been tough...but I do think we are now making progress (albeit very slowly). I need a break from it though! An occasional evening out and making some new friends should do the trick...starting on Tuesday I hope grin

Gauchita Fri 27-Apr-12 23:30:42

Glad to hear that. Take your time, though, it's been a lot. You need time to heal.
And yy to new friends!

Hi I'm new to LS6 but I am not a full time mum like you sadly. I am a step mum to two wonderful children aged 4 and 9. But I do have a good social life and you are most welcome to come join us sometime if you like.
