Hi I am looking for a coffee morning/baby group to go to. I am a SAHM to a 6 month old and live in Lincoln.
A lot of stuff here seems to be based in Waddington, does anyone know of anything fun to do with the baby in Lincoln?

dingdongmerrilyfromhome Thu 11-Dec-08 18:06:30

There are a few things on at the central library, I think.

mrsc79 Tue 16-Dec-08 14:56:23

This is on a tuesday 10 til 11.30am There is also a lovely group at the Grandstand. This is ran by the NCT on a thurs 10 til 11.30am. Hope you find these useful.

weenawoo Wed 17-Dec-08 10:34:56

Mrsc79 - do you know how soon after Christmas these will be restarting? Thanks.

mrsc79 Wed 17-Dec-08 14:34:04

Hi. The Family hour group resumes on the 6th Jan. I think the NCT group starts up on the 8th Jan. I have a 10 month old, and he loves both of these groups, so cant wait for them to start up after Christmas!

weenawoo Sat 20-Dec-08 21:54:08

Thankyou, will try to get to one of these in the new year. I think mine needs to know that there are lots of other babies in the world!

Sam01 Tue 06-Jan-09 00:01:39

Hi I have just gone part time and looking for places to go with my 10 month old so if you want someone to go with then Im free (bar Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Ive been out of the Mummy circuit for 4 months!

mrsc79 Tue 06-Jan-09 17:12:10

Hi. Me too! If anyone fancies joining up to go to any groups, my little one and i would love to go.

weenawoo Tue 06-Jan-09 21:16:04

Sounds good both of you, where about in Lincoln is everyone from?

NicolaMumsnet Wed 07-Jan-09 15:20:49

Hi There
Just out of interest how old are the children at the family hour session in Eastgate? Is it for babies and new Mums or can toddlers go to?

mrsc79 Wed 07-Jan-09 16:41:21

Hi all. I live just uphill in Lincoln, so m really central for most groups and meeting up. How about you?

The group at Eastgate is for children of 0 to 5. Id say generally there is a mixed age range of children go. Its perfect for toddlers as they provide craft activities, singing and a drink & buscuit. The Staff are really welcoming too.

weenawoo Wed 07-Jan-09 19:50:18

I'm just down the side of the hill so same here really. Should we try to meet up? Really need to get a life if I'm going to stay at home with the baby.

mrspnut Wed 07-Jan-09 21:49:03

I live in a village just outside Lincoln and have a 2 1/2 year old girl.

We did have quite an active meet up group going at one point but it's kind of fizzled out recently but there are regular meet ups from the Bounty website, most of whom have babies of about a year old.

mrsc79 Thu 08-Jan-09 21:44:26

Hi. Thanks for leting us know about the bounty site. I have had a look, and like on here, everyone seems very friendly. It would be lovely to get a group of mummys together.

weenawoo, did you fancy going to the toddler group on tuesday at the eastgate church? I could meet you at the church. There is a bench just outside the door, where my son and i could wait for you? it starts at 10am.

weenawoo Fri 09-Jan-09 20:13:36

Thanks, that's really nice of you. Will see you there.

mrsc79 Sat 10-Jan-09 07:12:33

Lovely! See you there.

NicolaMumsnet Tue 13-Jan-09 14:56:03

Hi There
I live in a village just outside Lincoln too (Heighington) but the Eastgate thing sounds lovely. I do work ft from home but may try and bring my little boy to that one day

weenawoo Wed 14-Jan-09 11:14:47

It is really nice, well worth a visit. When are you thinking of going? I'll certainly be going again if you wanted to meet up.

NicolaMumsnet Thu 15-Jan-09 11:22:07

Hi Weenawoo
It won't be for a few weeks as I am busy with work and down in London for a bit, but I will certainly try and make the effort soon so will let you know

juliemb66 Wed 11-Feb-09 22:10:09

Hi everyone, I'm new to this site. Have a 2 1/2 yr old and 6 mth old. And dont have a car! I'm desperate to find some kind of regular gym group (tumble tots kind of thing) for my toddler who loves jumping! Go to Playzone when my sister can come to watch the baby. But need a weekly activity for him. Anyone know of anything?

weenawoo Wed 18-Feb-09 12:05:09

I don't know about a gym group but, there is a nice toddler group at the methodist church on bailgate. They have loads of ride alongs, and climbing stuff for older ones and smaller baby toys. Think there is something at the Lincolnshire poacher pub with soft play stuff but haven't been so don't know what it's like.

mrspnut Thu 19-Feb-09 16:58:45

There isn't a tumble tots group in Lincoln unfortunately.

There is a Jo Jingles group though, at Waddington on a monday morning, North Hykeham on a thursday afternoon or Bailgate on a wednesday morning run by Sara (my daughter adored going but we can no longer fit it in).

juliemb66 Tue 24-Feb-09 00:30:24

Thanks for you messages weenawoo and mrspnut I've actually since found out there's Lincoln gymnastic club which includes under 5's and a club called Socatots which is football based but develops skills and coordination. I'm going to try them both out. Thanks for you help.

Just to let you all know that there is a new group (The Creation Station) starting in Branston, Lincoln. It is arts and craft Exploration sessions. It starts in Sep and will run weekly on a Wed morning from 10.00 - 10.50. It is for 1 - 5 yr olds and all the children get to have creative messy fun with their mums, dads, grandparents or carers. Hopefully should be lots of fun!

Tedorino Wed 21-Oct-09 12:10:22

Hi. I am due in December. Already have a 6 year old and recently moved to the Navenby area. Does anyone know of a local baby/bump group or fancy meeting up? I don't know anyone else due here!

droz Wed 21-Oct-09 17:00:23

Hi everyone.

My name is Dawn and I am mum to one little boy, Oscar. I have started tinytalk baby signing classes in Lincoln.

TinyTalk baby signing classes offer a fun and relaxed environment in which you can learn how to sign with your baby and gain an insight into their world, allowing them to communicate with you before they can talk!

In the first half of the class we sing all the favourite nursery rhymes and action songs whilst incorporating everyday practical signs. The second part of the class is dedicated to playtime for your baby and a cup of tea and a choccie biscuit for you!

All babies between the ages of 0 and 2 are welcome.
For more information check out the website or call me

Mon - 10-11am St. Mattius Church Hall, Burton Rd.

Wed - 10-11am Moorland Park Methodist Church Hall. Skellingthorpe Rd.

Classes are £3-50 per family pre paid per 12 week term.

Hope to see you at class soon.

Dawn

Hi all - I've just seen this thread and wanted to update everyone - there is now a Tumble Tots in Lincoln and we run classes for babies and children from crawling through to 7 yrs old!!

We run at Rustons Sports & Social Club on Saturdays during term time - we do ask that people book in advance by calling 01636 684233 or 07884 223630 or book in at www.tumbletots.com/Nottingham-North.

We also run at Winthorpe Community Centre just down the A46 on a Tuesday and Wednesday.

Many thanks!

Helen70 Wed 23-Mar-11 10:22:02

There's Musical Minors at St Martins and St Faith's school at 1:30 to 2:30pm on a Tuesday. It is aimed at 2 to 4 year olds. They get to to sing and run about providing a basis for learning an instrument in the future. It is really fun and there is a craft too. My 4 and nearly 2 year old have been going for several weeks now and love it! £3 per child is very reasonable.

supadupapupascupa Thu 09-Jun-11 21:33:35

dont forget your surestart centers!!

MrJellyBelly Tue 31-Jan-12 10:34:43

So many of these classes are in the day time on week days?? Are there any classes at weekends?

My wife and I work full time and are looking for a suitable class to take our 3yo daughter to. She is currenlty at swimming lessons but we'd also like to encourage her to try gymastics, trampolining or something similar.

Anywhere in or between Linoln and Grantham please...

Thanks

Matt

Hi,

I've just moved to Lincoln with my partner and 13 month old son a couple of months ago and was wondering if there are any local mother and baby groups / coffee mornings in the town or north hykeham?

Thanks smile
