Wimbledon Park, set in world-famous SW19, will be hosting a Bank Holiday weekend of music and entertainment this summer, 26-29 August (#liveatwimbpark).

The Horrible Histories Best of Barmy Britain event will be taking place on Monday, 29 August, to bring to a close the Live At Wimbledon Park 2016 August BH weekend of musical entertainment. It promises to be a fun-filled family day with gruesome and ghoulish tales from the past.

To celebrate, we're offering Mumsnetters the chance to win ONE Family Ticket (for four picnic style tickets) to the Horrible Histories Live on Stage - Best of Barmy Britain event. To be in with a chance of winning you can enter via this thread, on FB or via Twitter:

a) On this thread comment on your favourite Horrible Histories era explaining why?

b) Like and share our Mumsnet Merton & Wimbledon FB link

c) RT and follow our Twitter Mumsnet Merton & Wimbledon competition posts (using #liveatwimbpark).

The competition closes at midday, Friday, 26 August 2016. The winner will be notified by PM/DM shortly thereafter to ensure we can sort out their prize ahead of the event (and indeed the long Bank Holiday weekend).

Ts&Cs The Family Ticket must include at least one child. The prize is non-transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash nor refunded.

Good luck!

It's got to be the Victorians and Queen Victoria in particular.

Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, this competition is now closed, having been rendered null and void because Merton Council has cancelled the series of Live At Wimbledon Park concerts (scheduled for the August Bank Holiday weekend). So there will not be a Horrible Histories family concert taking place.

Apologies for the inconvenience and any disappointment caused.

Hi bendybrickpumpkinpatch

I've just found this official statement on the Live at Wimbledon Park page of Merton Council's website:

"It is with deep regret that we are having to cancel this year’s Live at Wimbledon Park. Despite doing everything within our means to advertise and promote tickets for the event, we have not sold enough to be able to take this further. All tickets will be refunded via our ticket provider here."

Hope that helps?
