Just thought Id say in the hope that there is someone near me <waves frantically while jumping up and down> Im near Richmond, North Yorkshire if anyone is my way. Id love to have a group meet-up.

McKayz Sat 09-Feb-13 13:51:50

I've come to say hi!!!

Threedogsisnotenough Sat 09-Feb-13 14:52:32

I'm near Richmond too. Well nearish, more toward Barnard Castle. We could meet up? Maybe at the Station?

SomethingAboutNothing Sat 09-Feb-13 17:36:12

Popping in to say hello smile I'm near northallerton.

TheDeadlyDonkey Sat 09-Feb-13 19:23:36

Hello smile
I live fairly near Ripon.

Catbag Sun 10-Feb-13 10:50:10

Leyburn here <<waves>>

LillethTheCat Sun 10-Feb-13 11:11:24

ooh people here. Hiya.

Three If you draw a line between Richmond, Barnard Castle and Darlington I live pretty much in the middle. My village begins with an E. Ive only lived here a year so not sure where everything is, but Im starting to find my way. Do you mean the Station at Richmond? Or is there one in Barnard Castle? Sorry Ive only been to Barney once.

<jumps up and down excitedly as people are here>

Anyone fancy a bigger meet up somewhere? I can drive so not bothered where though wouldn't want to go much further south than Thirsk.

LillethTheCat Sun 10-Feb-13 11:12:07

BTW come like this page if you are on Facebook maybe we can get to know one another too.

Threedogsisnotenough Sun 10-Feb-13 15:22:39

Lilleth I think I know where you are, and I am 2 villages further over, the village where the bridge isn't working too well at the moment. And yes, I did mean the Station at Richmond, but I can certainly travel a bit.

McKayz Sun 10-Feb-13 16:23:07

I never said where I am. I'm in Pickering.

LillethTheCat Sun 10-Feb-13 17:29:39

The station at Richmond is fine with me. When are you free? Im a bit busier than usual this week, but can make Wed afternoon, Thurs morning or Fri aft. Or can make Mon aft or Fri aft next week (have a few plans over half term), but after half term I have a lot more free time as I have no plans as yet.

Threedogsisnotenough Mon 11-Feb-13 12:37:11

I think after half term would be better for me certainly, as there is a lot going on at the moment, and half term is busy plus we are away for a bit as well.

LillethTheCat Mon 11-Feb-13 13:09:29

Ah well then we will have to arrange something after half term. Do you live somewhere beginning with W?

Who's up for a bigger North Yorkshire meet up in April? Im thinking April as its a couple of months away so we can get something organised and have plenty of notice, but if anyone would like to do something sooner then we can.

Im thinking somewhere that is fair for all (or at least most) of us in terms of travel. So say Northallerton, Ripon, Thirsk? If so where to go? I dont really know any of the places as to what's there, so open to any suggestions.

SomethingAboutNothing Mon 11-Feb-13 15:29:46

After half term works for me. I drive so am happy to travel. I'm fairly new to the area too, so like to explore new places.

Catbag Mon 11-Feb-13 17:39:54

After half term is good for me. I do drive, but I have 17 week old twins that are ebf so I try not to go too far away as it ends up being traumatic a bit of a faff. The Station would be perfect.

Catbag Mon 11-Feb-13 17:41:52

Mondays are not good for me generally, as I am in uni for several hours. Rest of the week is free though, inbetween school runs.

LillethTheCat Mon 11-Feb-13 18:57:04

Ooh shall we go with Wed 27th then? Or I can make the Tues.

SomethingAboutNothing Tue 12-Feb-13 11:19:14

Oops, I've just realised you were talking about the two of you meeting up after half term, sorry! April time is fine for me for a group meet up.

Ahhhh, twins, how lovely! I'll be bringing along my 22 week old DS.

LillethTheCat Tue 12-Feb-13 12:55:07

Dont be daft something you are more than welcome to come along. Anybody can come if they want to get to Richmond.

OohTrifle Thu 14-Feb-13 19:59:20

<enters carrying wine> I live in Darlo but used to live in Wycliffe when we first moved up from the south and am very partial to a walk and a Station cake. Well, mainly cake.

LillethTheCat Fri 15-Feb-13 12:06:18

Ooh Ive just come back from Darlo. Im very partial to cake too grin probably a bit too much grin

<puts wine down for later thanks>

When is best for those that want to meet at the station in Richmond? Im thinking Wed 27th or would people prefer the Tues or Thurs?

Also any thoughts of a bigger meet up at some point? I originally said April, but happy to make it earlier if people want.

OohTrifle Fri 15-Feb-13 14:28:46

26th or 27th works for me. My two wee boys will be in nursery then (12mth old for the first time eek!) as I go back to work the following week so I'll have free hands to carry the tray of cake.

LadyinCatterick Sat 23-Feb-13 23:11:28

Are you thinking of next week? Let me know the time and I will try to come along

LillethTheCat Sun 24-Feb-13 08:51:49

Can we make it Wed 27th? Say 10:30? I need to pop to Darlington on 26th now.

OohTrifle Mon 25-Feb-13 19:19:06

Can do weds 27th at 10.30. I'll be the one with face pressed up against the glass cake counter. Oh and wearing a mustard and pink stag print scarf. Carnations are so passé.

LillethTheCat Mon 25-Feb-13 20:02:41

Ooh so that's 2 of us. Anyone else? LadyinCatterick Threedogs Catbag Somethingaboutnothing or anyone else if you want to come?

LillethTheCat Mon 25-Feb-13 20:20:45

BTW I should say Ive got red hair and will have a 17MO old with me. If I look tired it's because said 17MO is teething and is not happy ATM sad

LillethTheCat Mon 25-Feb-13 20:21:19

PS Im not actually a cat grin

OohTrifle Mon 25-Feb-13 22:12:26

grin Good to know as I was concerned whether you'd get past the array of dogs usually tethered up outside!

SomethingAboutNothing Mon 25-Feb-13 22:28:45

I'll come along and show my face. I've also got red hair, and will be bringing along my 5 1/2 month old DS.

SomethingAboutNothing Mon 25-Feb-13 22:31:59

Where exactly will we be meeting? I've had a look on the station website but get the impression it's quite a big place. Thanks!

LillethTheCat Tue 26-Feb-13 07:58:54

It's not really. How about just outside the door? You can park for free if you have a blue disc I can pick a couple up if anyone needs one? Though you might be able to get them from the station

SomethingAboutNothing Tue 26-Feb-13 20:12:36

Great, I'll see you by the door in the morning then!

Catbag Wed 27-Feb-13 07:56:40

Absolutely gutted, but I am not going to be able to make this one; I have the local Homestart coordinator bringing my newly-assigned volunteer to meet me this morning at 10:00am. I have baby twins and am trying desperately to restore my house to its pre-twin level of tidyness. Probably not realistic in the 3 hours a week that the volunteer will be here, but it's worth a go! Have a lovely meet, and I definitely catch you all for the next one!

OohTrifle Wed 27-Feb-13 08:28:52

Ah that's a shame Catbag. I say shove everything under the stairs/washing machine to provide impression of serene and tidy house. grin

LillethTheCat Wed 27-Feb-13 09:34:07

Oh no Catbag Will definately arrange another one soon.

LillethTheCat Sat 02-Mar-13 17:35:44

So are we looking to arrange a bigger meet up at some point then?

Im thinking Northallerton as its a bit more middle North Yorkshire. How's that for people?

I dont know Northallerton at all, but Ive been told there's a Barton Cafe or The Golden Lion?

Any thoughts?

OohTrifle Fri 08-Mar-13 14:57:30

Northallerton good for me. Is it Barkers cafe you are thinking of Lilleth?

There is also a soft play place for those with mobile tots. It is called Kidzplay on standard way industrial estate. Think that is just before you get into town if you are coming from Darlington.

Hope everyone is ok. I survived my first week back at work relatively unscathed. The joy of having an entire cup of tea that isn't cold! Secretly though, I would have rather been eating biscuits with the boy smile

LillethTheCat Fri 08-Mar-13 18:38:02

I dont know, it was where Something mentioned to me in PM the other day.

I was thinking of Northallerton to be a bit more central for anyone else in North Yorkshire, though I think thread this has died off a bit now sad. When I did have an idea of when and where I thought that a message in chat would be a good idea. Something along the lines of X place at X time on X day there are a few of us there, anyone in the area is welcome to come. The title will be Northallerton meet-up.

Just need ideas of where to go really. I dont know it at all.

SomethingAboutNothing Mon 11-Mar-13 12:20:28

Yes, it was Barkers I meant - sorry, must have been auto-correct.

Kids play might suit more people (those with mobile children) so sounds a good idea.

OohTrifle I'm glad your first week back went well - the hardest part is over at least!

OohTrifle Thu 14-Mar-13 21:50:43

Thanks something! Hope you are all ok. We need to win the lottery to stop all thoughts of having to return to poxy work. I also seem to have caught the lurgy while away at work and have applied so much Vicks tonight that while I still can't smell it, it's making my chest hot and my eyes water. Clearly it's going to be my new perfume!

Fingers crossed some people wander back onto this thread. Tea and cake and play should always be a winner!

LillethTheCat Wed 08-May-13 14:34:55

Sorry Ive not been around. Was having internet problems, going to put a new thread in Chat about a meet up in Northallerton to see what interest might be smile
