Chris Long is a financially driven entrepreneur who invests, launches and advises new start-up companies across a wide range of industries from online business selling and customizing luxury watches, to consumer products such as dietary supplements to financial services such as pension advice.
Chris is looking for a personal assistant who can work with him across all his businesses and assist with (financial) administration, bookkeeping, secretarial and personal services and HR tasks. The individual should be proactive, self-confident, quick and hardworking. Must have experience of working in a professional, fast paced financial environment and/or must have affinity with financial administration and services and have the confidence to pick up immediately.
Roles & Responsibilities
•Be in the know of everything that is going on in all the companies, taking on some of Chris’s responsibilities and working closely with people that work for the various companies he works with;
•Organise and manage the running of the office in East Sheen;
•General bookkeeping to include cash books, VAT returns, interest calculations, invoicing, accounts and budgets;
•Liaising with accountants and financial institutions such as Companies House and HM Customs and Revenue;
•Liaising with banks, insurance companies and brokers to open new accounts and take out insurance policies;
•Managing invoices and payments to and from suppliers and clients; setting up expense reports;
•Secretarial work: typing up notes; organising and maintaining diaries and making appointments; liaising with clients, suppliers, partners and other staff;
•Producing documents, letters, briefing papers, reports and presentations;
•Carrying out specific projects and research;
•HR administration and support on payrolls, reference requests, contracts and holiday schemes;
•Personal services that include booking restaurants, travel for Chris and his family and other personal requirements.
•You are a self-starter who embraces and is not fazed by an entrepreneurial all hands on deck environment;
•You have experience of working in a financial environment and/or have affinity with financial administration and services;
•You are confident, smart, quick and hard working. You will be able to multi task, prioritise and reprioritise and work well under pressure to tight deadlines;
•You are able to work efficiently and be happy doing so;
•You have exceptional attention to detail.
Experience and Qualifications required
•Exceptional computer literacy;
•Experience using Microsoft Office in particular Excel and be comfortable with cash books;
•Highly developed organisational skills;
•A meticulous, thorough and tidy nature;
•An ability to work accurately to tight deadlines;
•Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Start date: 23rd May 2016
Position: Personal Assistant
Hours: 5 hours per day with the possibility to do more.
Chris can be flexible on working hours during school holidays to accommodate children. Possible over time to fit in with the individual’s other commitments.
Place of work: some time at the offices Chris works from in Central London, 2 or 3 days from the office in South West London (SW14) with the possibility to work 1 day from home.
