We are a small group of parents who met through our mutual love of carrying our children in slings. We became friends and decided to set up a group to promote sling use, and share our experiences of parenting, its joys and frustrations, pooling our collective knowledge and varying parenting styles in a forum that would be encouraging and supportive.
We arrange picnics (weather permitting. hmmm) and get togethers to drink coffee, eat cake and chat or we go to local events and just have fun. If you're interested in joining us please get in touch Or you can visit our website sheffieldslings.com
We're now on Pinterest (http://pinterest.com/sheffieldslings/), facebook (http://www.facebook.com/SheffieldSlings) and we have a blog here: http://sheffieldslings.com/
The group is really thriving now, within a month we've grown to over 80 members and we've had some amazing feedback. We're a relaxed, welcoming and non-judgemental group of parents and we end up chatting about everything and anything, child related and not!
We've been going to loads of events around Sheffield recently, (today we took part in a zumba flashmob in the city centre!) so there's loads of opportunities to get out and about and meet some new friends. We also encourage members to arrange their own get togethers so there's always something going on to suit everyone's busy schedules.
