Anyone interested in a meet-up?

(40 Posts)

I live near Littlehampton with DH, 3yo DD and 9mo DS. After seeing several local MNers on this thread I wondered whether anyone fancies meeting up - what do you think?

I am in Bognor, so not far away! I also have a 9 month old DS!

Ooh hello!

I'm moving to Worthing in early December. I currently live near the Lake District.

It's so blinkin' wet here you might have to wring me out when I get down south but I'm up for a get together. My children are 11 and 6.5. I'm just winding up two businesses so I'll be free for lots of coffee job-hunting.

Two businesses? Wow. What's prompted the move, if you don't mind me asking?

I grew up here but moved to Wales at 18 to go to university and only moved back last year. It's still a bit odd living here after so long away!

Crimebuster hello! smile

Husband was offered a dream opportunity so we seized it. We didn't want to live with any regrets. Two businesses sounds grander than it is. One has been winding down for a while and tbh I'm bored with that line of work. The other one will live on in some form but I thought I might meet more people in a job rather than working for myself. I'm a bit nervous about meeting people as I've always used toddler groups in the past to get to know people but my two are at school now so that's no longer possible.

I'm really looking forward to the move though. 7 weeks today!!

joyful I grew up in Rustington and also left to go to uni in Wales when I was 18. I'm 28 now, moved to Bognor as DH got a job teaching near Chi. Helena, good luck with the move, you might not find too much difference weather wise down here, soggy soggy soggy.

Helena I'm pretty shy and usually quite rubbish about meeting people too! And I'm afraid Crimebuster is right, it's pretty soggy down here atm. Still not as wet as Wales was though!

Crimebuster how strange! Which school/uni did you go to? I went to RCPS and Angmering, then Cardiff uni. You're a few years younger than me though.

I've seen the rainfall figures and we get twice the rainfall you get! wink

Nice! Don't tell DD, she'll want to move - she adores splashing in puddles! I can't think who she gets that from. grin

Helenagrace Fri 19-Oct-12 06:45:43

Enjoy the puddle jumping while you can. DS now runs through puddles and comes home soaked and muddy. DD looks out of the window, despairs that she can't wear her favourite shoes and then moans that wellies are not cool!

Crimebusterofthesea Fri 19-Oct-12 07:48:12

I went to RCPS too, then Lton, then Swansea Uni! What dis you study? Helena, twice the rainfall?! It must never stop raining!

Helenagrace Fri 19-Oct-12 11:19:43

It rarely does stop raining!

Earlier this year I drove across to Leeds. As I was driving past one of our reservoirs which was full to the point of topping the dam the radio was talking about the real possibility of stand pipes in the South East.

Crimebuster I studied archaeology. smile

Helena that sounds a bit crazy - you're certainly going to find it drier down here then!

I'm in rustington anyone?

Yep, me too! Hello! smile

Pickles77 Wed 31-Oct-12 14:58:52

Hello!!!! grin

How are you doing?

Half my post's disappeared, how odd. hmm It should have been:

How are you doing? How's the baby, is she sleeping any better yet?

Pickles77 Wed 31-Oct-12 18:17:42

Hi, I'm good thank you. Things are going good. She's doing 10-6.30 with a little feed in the middle.
How are you? smile

Wow, that really is good, especially as she's still quite little I think? (I know I sound like a stalker but I'm really not grin I just have a good memory for names!).

Pickles77 Wed 31-Oct-12 19:28:27

That's okay I look out for you too actually no idea you were so close. I shall wear my MN scarf more!
She's 7 weeks tommorow- it's flying!
Have you little ones? smile

Yep, a 3.3yo DD and a 10mo DS. Who are both (I think) finally asleep!

I don't have a MN scarf, and <whispers> I don't own any Boden either. confused So do you go to any baby groups locally? I really should go to more - I help out at the BF group in East Preston and sometimes at the Wickbourne baby clinic but that's about it.

Pickles77 Wed 31-Oct-12 20:03:20

I went to the breast one in EP once but I felt really out of place and I'm formula feeding now. I did go to clinic there Monday though.
I only own a scarf by accident! I'm a non Boden wearer too smile

Oh that's a shame, it's usually a really welcoming group. I haven't been in a few weeks as life has got in the way a bit.

I'll PM you in a moment. smile

Hello! I'm in Chichester. Madly busy at the moment, and DS in nursery mostly while I work, but we have Thursdays off.
