Browsers Bookshop

Browsers occupies a handsome double-fronted building that's one of Porthmadog's oldest; a bookshop has been here since 1935. It's a family-run business, managed by David and Sara Cowper, who sell free-range eggs from their chickens alongside the books. Although there are some secondhand and out-of-print titles, the shop holds mostly new books, with a range of biographies and titles on science, gardening, art, photography, fiction and the classics. It also carries Welsh and local history, and a large section for the train enthusiasts who are drawn to the town by its narrow-gauge railway.
