Summerfields' Miniature Railways has been one of Bedfordshire's hidden gems. Run by the Bedford Model Engineering Society, the railways (3 tracks) offer rides on model steam locomotives to adults and children.
Do check the website for public running days and directions before setting off. Take a camera and get some great snaps.
Snacks available in the new clubhouse and toilets available on site. There is a good amount of free parking available on site. All details - with pictures - are on the web site.
Times and prices are subject to change. Contact venue before setting out.
A good place to spend a pleasant hour or two. Kids enjoy riding on the trains and looking out for the teddy bears and crocodiles (rubber ones) on the way round. There is a video on the front page of the web site which shows the length of the largest ride - there are 3 tracks in all.
The steam locomotives are very impressive and most are built by the club's members.
