    11-Jul-2013 Report

A really great day out, with lots and lots of chocolate thrown in!

Based at the original Victorian factory, it traces the history of the Cadbury family, shows how chocolate is made and gives the kids a good time too. It's a cross between a theme park and museum and very child-friendly.

My DSs (3 and 6) loved the treasure hunt through an Aztec Jungle, posing for pictures in the Advertising section and the car-ride through an animated cocoa-bean village. Handfuls of chocolates are generously dispensed every ten minutes by extremely friendly staff. And there is a rather excellent outdoor playground for them to burn some of it off in afterwards, with picnic tables attached (take your own). There is an indoor cafe too.

It is expensive, but you can usually find discount vouchers on the Heart of England website. Do pre-book - it's a v busy indoor attraction which has limited space.
