Library of Birmingham

Birmingham centre

The fantastic new Library of Birmingham is open seven days a week:
Monday - Friday 8am-8pm; Saturday 10am - 5pm; and Sunday 11am - 4pm.

It's a wonderful, generous space, and toddler- and pram-friendly. The children's library is on the lower-ground floor where there are sofas and teddies to cuddle up with whilst choosing a book. Look out for weekly music sessions and story sessions for the under-5s, film events and reading festivals.

There is a cafe on the ground floor, and on the 3rd floor. But packed lunches are also allowed, to be eaten in lounge areas on each floor, or in good weather, the Discovery Terrace on the 3rd floor, or in the delightful Secret Garden on the 7th floor - worth a visit anyway. There are toilets on every floor, and changing/feeding facilities.
