Visit this beautiful historic village on the Hertfordshire-Cambridgeshire border on its annual open day. Come and wander around 13 delightful open gardens and climb the ancient steps up the magnificent church tower for some spectacular views.
There will things to buy at the Made in Ashwell Market, things to hear at a series of mini-concerts dotted around the village and things to see everywhere: art exhibitions, a thatching display, a harp demonstration, history and wildlife walks, morris dancing, honey-tastings, an archaeological dig, two model railway tracks, veteran cycles, cricket on the recreation ground and even a fun fair. Lunches and afternoon teas available.
