Fitzbillies is open for coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and cakes, seven days a week. We serve breakfast at weekends and on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings we also serve a rather fabulous dinner.
Fitzbillies was first opened in 1922 by the Mason Brothers, whose name you can still see on the front of the shop. Since then it has delighted generations of ‘town & gown' and millions of visitors with its traditional British cakes, including the justly famous, ridiculously sticky Chelsea Buns.
Fitzbillies went out of business in February 2011 but was reopened in August by new owners, food writer Tim Hayward and his wife Alison. The revitalised Fitzbillies has a cafe and coffee counter alongside the original shop, a new, enthusiastic team of staff and a first class chef, Rosie Sykes.
