The London Borough of Camden amply reflects the diversity of Britain's capital city. It offers a wealth of activities for children and adults alike, from the British Museum – for lovers of history and the arts – to Regents Park with its spectacular zoo, Camden Town Market for shopping and people-watching and Hampstead Heath for those seeking a natural refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Camden extends from its southern tip in urban Holborn (don't miss unusual playground favourite Coram's Fields) to its leafy northern wards of Highgate and Hampstead. At the west of the borough lie Kilburn and West Hampstead, with their bustling cafés and restaurants. In the east are regenerated Kings Cross, home to the British Library, and tourist favourite Covent Garden, with its excellent Transport Museum.
Hampstead Heath, holds many free delights for children including a paddling pool, several playgrounds and the One O'clock Club, which has two neighbouring campuses, one catering for under fives and the other for age 6 to teens. The Heath also has great athletic facilities including bike trails, swimming ponds, a running track and tennis courts (charges may apply).
Camden is well served by public transport, so it's easy to get around and enjoy its many family-friendly attractions.
