Lots of people use their child's first birthday as an opportunity to hold a humanist naming ceremony. This is a great way of making something of such an important milestone when you've already got friends and family gathered together.
Humanist naming ceremonies are personal and sincere. They're about the individual child (or children!). And they're a way for those of us who aren't religious to celebrate our child's arrival with a little bit of formality as well as with lots of fun.
Your local celebrants will work with you to write and deliver a ceremony that says what you want it to say. It might include readings, parental promises and the appointment of 'guide parents' (or godparents, or oddparents, or whatever you want to call them!)
We can guide you through the process and make sure it's all exactly what you want it to be.
