Housed in a warehouse at the heart of Gloucester's fine Victorian Docks, Gloucester Waterways Museum tells the story of our wonderful canals and rivers. Climb aboard historic boats, enjoy hands-on fun, watch archive films and browse galleries rich in canal heritage. You could even take a boat trip along the Gloucester & Sharpness Canal or River Severn.
Children of all ages will love getting their hands wet in our interactive canal lock exhibit and dressing up as waterways children as they explore the Museum.
The museum organises special events and activities for children during weekends and school holidays. After Gloucester Cathedral it is ranked the second most popular attraction in Gloucester according to Trip Advisor reviewers who regularly comment on the friendliness of the museum team and the quality of the museum's boat trips.
