My son left Broadlands at the end of the summer and has moved onto primary school this term. He has been very confident and excited about this transition thanks to the sound foundation that Broadlands provided for him. He has thrived and made good friends in the secure, caring and supportive environment. The wide range of both indoor and outdoor play equipment has meant he has never been bored nor lacked intellectual stimulation. With Burrows Field on the doorstep trips out to fly kites, make nests and visit the playground and local smallholdings have all been part of his Broadlands experience. The easy car parking has been a huge benefit from my point of view!
As a family we were welcomed and made to feel a part of the Broadlands community. Parents are encouraged to get involved through attending social events, volunteering, fundraising or serving on the committee. For me, the opportunity to join the committee proved to be a brilliant way to get to know others.
I stayed with my son in rising 2s meaning he was familiar with the setting before I left him in rising 3s; he happily attended independently aged two. It was great to see how confident and well settled he was when I was helping out on rota duty. During his pre-school year he sat for the register, ate a packed lunch, changed for PE and visited the local school. His experiences at Broadlands have contributed significantly to his confidence about transitioning to primary school; I would highly recommend this setting to others.
