Practicing yoga during pregnancy can be a useful preparation for the birth experience. In particular, learning breathing techniques may facilitate greater control of the breath during labour. Yoga can help women to experience their pregnancy with minimal discomfort and can help to boost circulation, reduce fluid retention, relieve aches and pains, and strengthen the abdominal and pelvic muscles essential for birth. Yoga also offers the opportunity to connect with your baby and the changes in your body whilst pregnant.
Coming to a class is a great way to feel part of a community of pregnant women.
It is recommended that you rest during your first trimester and start yoga in the second trimester when you can continue your classes until before birth. The classes are suitable for both beginners and experienced yoga practitioners.
