Saffron is nestled in the heart of the restaurant quarter of Truro and has been a restaurant under head chef Nik Tinney for over 10 years.
New owners, Chris and Lucy Siagos have recently completed a full renovation of the space to bring the surrounds in line with the fine dining menu that remains unchanged. Most ingredients are locally sourced, and this dictates our responsive, seasonal menu.
We provide a unique atmosphere that is both warm and tranquil and the rear section of the restaurant is ideal for private party bookings of up to 25. The woodburning stove is cosy in the colder months, whilst our new bar area is great for a pre-dinner cocktail.
Our renowned early supper menu is perfect for pre-emtertainment outings and Saturday brunch is an ideal family occasion.
A gem of a place that never fails to disappoint. The quality of the food is exceptional, the wine list is carefully thought out to accompany food and service is attentive but not overbearing.
Fantastic value for money, this was the first restaurant experience for all my children and we were welcomed by staff with our eldest which, 8 years ago was a refreshing change, especially with pram-bound younger siblings in tow!
Our youngest child has not proved such a foodie but loves fish so we brought him here to have his first try at restaurant eating. I was rally nervous as he is not always the best table company but staff were brilliant (to the point of leaving herb garnish off the plate) and I enjoyed a great value early supper with a glass of wine. And the house wine was excellent!
This is the place DH and I head for if we are able to afford a night out with food, which is rare these days, but we choose this place because it is consistently good and we need to be sure our money is well spent!
Love the commitment to local produce and producers and the fact that bread is baked on the premises and it is the best wine list in town. Terrific value for money and well chosen.
