Croydon Airport Visitor Centre


London's historic Croydon Airport opens on the first Sunday of every month. The Croydon Airport Visitor Centre is located in the old Air Traffic Control Tower of the magnificent Grade II listed Airport House, Purley Way, CR0 0XZ. It tells the story of how Croydon was Britain's major international airport and was a major force in developing international air travel.This is where "Mayday, Mayday, Mayday" was invented and where Amy Johnson made her record-breaking flights.Features include interactive installations and lots of fascinating displays.
