Fremington Quay Cafe

North Devon

Lovely cafe on the Tarka Trail (a disused railway line hugging the coast from Barnstaple around to Bideford that's now a popular cycle and walking path). The cafe inhabits an old station building and there are lots of tables outside and in. Food is locally sourced and hearty with breakfast served between 9-11am and lunch between 11.30am-4.30pm. There's a short children's menu (pasta or bap) and the adults can choose between baked potatoes, quiche and salad or baguettes. Breakfasts offer the usual. Save room for the large selection of delicious home made cakes or the cream tea. There's a viewing tower up a flight of steps from the cafe which children can explore while their parents enjoy a coffee.
