    29-Apr-2015 Report

We introduced our son to Water Babies over 2 years ago when he was just 3 months old. My eldest daughter was not keen on swimming so I was very eager to make a water baby out of my son as early as possible. Plus, I tend to suffer with baby blues so thought it would be a nice relaxing activity for both of us to bond and have fun.

Best decision I'd ever made! From the very first lesson, it has been nothing but joy and did wonders for my confidence. I am also convinced it helped him with his colic. After few lessons, my husband took over and he loved it too. In fact, most of the toddlers in our group come with their fathers now!

The classes are held in small groups in heated pools and last 30 minutes. Because my son was so little, he sometimes struggled to keep awake by the end of the session and would fall asleep while dressing. Bless him!

Partners are welcome to watch and help with changing and photos and videos are allowed (they do ask in the beginning if everyone is comfortable with that). Their teachers are very highly-qualified, fun and baby-friendly! If you are like me and not keen on going under water, they will gladly take over.

The learning is done by having fun - singing nursery rhymes, splashing, kicking, floating, blowing bubbles and eventually diving! It's amazing to see how quickly they progress and gain confidence and independence after each lesson. All the parents in our group enjoy it as much as the children (if not more!) and we have also made some good friends over the years.

Our Water Baby journey might sadly be coming to an end as our venue is closing for pool maintenance for the summer. We are hoping we will be able to come back. If not, we will cherish this experience and all the wonderful memories. Massive thank you to the North-West London team - lovely Lucy, Steve, Alex and Diane.
