Children and dogs are both warmly welcome with a toddler house in the beer garden and baby facilities on hand.
Eight of us, plus children and babies, had a lovely lunch there yesterday (Bank Holiday). It's refreshing to see an indy (original mid-Victorian) pub serving nice grub AND family/dog friendly. The food was delicious and they handled our big order very well. It was raining so we didn't have the chance to explore the garden sadly.
Minor criticism - the service could be slightly better, more attentive and approachable. It did get quite busy that afternoon, however I felt as if we were too much bother as soon as we had come in for our 12pm booking (they were just setting up then).
8 adults and 4 kids, with dessert (but no alcohol, bar a Guinness)- £137. Not bad at all!
