    24-Feb-2015 Report

Maggie's Vintage Beats & Breakfast have been around for just over a year but we haven't had the chance to try them out until now. Well, I am glad we have!

They are owned by Food & Fuel, a gastropub chain who recently rescued The Grosvenor pub in Hanwell from becoming a block of flats.

As soon we come in, we feel a lazy Sunday vibe. Quirky retro décor and plenty of space. No raised eyebrows at our buggy – we get the choice to take it to the table or leave by the entrance (folded or not). They also have a soft-seating area – great for those mummy coffee get-togethers!

The menu is quite straightforward and simple but appealing. All day breakfast, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, salads and grills. They do lunch boxes to eat in or take away from £6.

While we decide, the team are chatting to the kids. What a friendly and laid back bunch!

I end up going for a bunless Country Burger at £10.50, my husband opts for the XTC burger at £11.50. The burgers come with a tasty slaw and quite reasonable fries. We also order a side of sweet potato fries and they hit the spot. The burgers are made from Scotch Angus beef, cooked to taste, juicy and flavoursome.

Kids get the mini burger and chicken goujons which come with juice and ice-cream. Both are well-received by our fussy kids. The portions are very generous indeed – great value at £6 each. And they have child-size cutlery and the all-important crayons!

The drinks menu is extensive. We loved our Ginger Bear Float and Lemon, Ginger & Banana Blast smoothie. It's a shame it was too early to try the cocktails!

There is not much room left for dessert but we ought to report to Mumsnetters on the pancakes. Fluffy and buttery, they come topped with a generous helping of maple syrup and vanilla ice cream. Spot on!

The verdict: 5 stars from us! It's a great quirky eatery and compares favourably with its neighbours across the road. I think we have finally found a perfect breakfast place for our family.
