Daisy Birthing Active Antenatal™ Classes: Lewes
Our all inclusive Active Antenatal™ method is a ground breaking, effective and all encompassing pregnancy class helping you to learn your antenatal education and active birth techniques in a truly effective way – anchored to your breath, your body and your movement – exactly where you will need it on your baby's birthing day.
Each class will deliver:
• Traditional antenatal education
• Active birth awareness
• An easy way to understand medical induction and interventions
• Flowing movement sequences anchored to your body and breath
• Breathing techniques for every stage of labour
• Relaxation techniques
• Peer-to-peer support in a women only class
Classes can be started from 14 weeks of pregnancy and are taught over a six-week term.
Women can do as many terms as they wish until baby is born.
We are supportive of all birth choices.

I am almost finished with the Daisy Birthing Classes and I am so happy I decided to do them. I have found the breathing exercises really useful and those alone have made me feel more confident now that i am nearing the end of my pregnancy. I like the fact the classes are a mixture of breathing exercises, learning and relaxation and the classes are small in terms of other mums which means its nice and personal. I would definitely recommend to other mums. Thank you Claire :)
I attended Claire's classes during my first pregnancy and had a very swift labour using only gas and air and then my baby was born in the pool - just the way I wanted. I put this down to the breathing and movement techniques that I learnt from Claire and also that I believed in my body - an ethos the daisy foundation is all about! When I fell pregnant with my second child I knew that I wanted to attend Claire's classes again to refresh myself with all of the techniques but also to have the headspace to really focus on this pregnancy (a luxury I don't get at home with my 20 month old daughter!). The classes this time around have really helped me to connect with the baby as well as reinforcing that I can do this again and that birthing your baby is not something to be frightened of. Claire is so supportive and it's such a lovely and non-judgemental class to attend. I would really recommend it to any expectant mum out there - you won't regret it!
I have attended the lazy daisy classes for both my pregnancies and would strongly recommend any first, second and third time mums to do the same. The classes are invaluable at boosting your confidence and give you all the tools you need when entering the scary task of labour. My first labour went as smoothly as it could have done and I solely put this down to the techniques I learnt and confidence Claire gave me from the classes. I am currently half way through classes with my second baby and feel so empowered and confident that I have opted for a home birth - something I would never have thought about before attended the course. Thank you Claire and Lazy Daisy for making the whole experience something to look forward too - and not fear!
I am nearing the end of my Daisy experience. It has been wonderful to attend the classes to meet other mums and have the experience of Claire teaching us great breathing techniques and to listen to her practical advice to prepare me for my birthing day. I have enjoyed the gentle exercises and relaxation techniques that give me a quiet and relaxing moment to spend with my growing bump without any interuptions from the outside world.
I recommend them to any expectant mums and definitely will be signing up for a second course. Thank you Claire .
I've attended two rounds of this course with this pregnancy. I'm 36 weeks now and feel very prepared for the active birth of my baby. Daisy has not only gently educated and relaxed me, but I believe the exercises have kept my usually troublesome back in check, it's really only just becoming uncomfortable now. I took these classes with my first child and found they helped me a great deal during my labour. Signed up straight away with Claire for my second pregnancy and highly recommend her classes! Great way to learn about the labour process and how to help your body be as effective as it can be. Relaxing environment and perfect for positive thinking and positive labour
I attended Daisy Birthing classes with my first pregnancy which resulted in a fairly quick and relaxed birth. These classes helped me understand what was happening and why, which enabled me to feel in calm and in control throughout the whole process.
I decided to attend the classes with my second pregnancy as I'd had such a positive previous experience. And weirdly I am now actually looking forward to the labour and birth, I never thought I'd say that!
I give the classes 5 stars, and I'd give Claire 6 stars if I could!
I wasn't sure what to expect when I signed up for the classes in Lewes, but Claire put us all at ease very quickly. We're all able to speak openly about our concerns, anxieties and general pregnancy gripes in a respectful atmosphere. Every week Claire goes through information surrounding birth which isn't overwhelming, and in an easy to understand manner. I have learnt more from these classes than the NHS antenatal class.
The best part of the classes are the breathing techniques and accompanying meditative movements which are practised every week. This really enables me to feel in control of my body and my soon to be labour experience. I've gone from feeling stressed and worried about the birth to confident that I'm able to do it on my terms.
I highly recommend the classes to all pregnant women who want to feel empowered,and who are open minded to listening to their body and using meditation.
I'm just coming to the end of my first term of Daisy Birthing classes and have really enjoyed them. As a first time mother-to-be, I was looking for classes which imparted useful information, and provided me with breathing techniques and poses to use during labour. The Daisy classes have given me all of this, as well as a calm and friendly atmosphere in which to share any pregnancy niggles with other pregnant women, and a space to truly relax, focus on my growing baby and to cultivate a positive mindset towards my eventual labour. Claire has been wonderfully warm, enthusiastic, kind and helpful throughout - I would thoroughly recommend her classes.
I have never been keen on yoga or exercise classes in general so was somewhat nervous about going along, but was so glad that I did. The classes provide you with a practical toolkit of techniques to get you through labour along with some useful, down to earth advice on what you can do to help it along. The atmosphere was positive and non-judgemental with no idealogical opinions on the 'best' kinds of birthing or anything like that, which was a relief. I started the classes at 14wks well before I had learnt anything about giving birth from any other sources and I found they really helped make me feel a lot more confident about how I would cope. I will be going back for a second term and would recommend them to anyone.
I was recommended Daisy Foundation classes by a friend and attended between September and December 2014. Claire was really welcoming and created a warm, friendly environment. The classes were extremely helpful in both providing practical exercises/techniques to use throughout labour, as well as a relaxing, enjoyable weekly class throughout my pregnancy to unwind and relax, and focus on my pregnancy and baby. I am certain the classes really helped me in my labour to maintain calm and relaxed, and contributed to a less stressful delivery. I will (and am!) recommending these classes to anyone expecting.
Claire's classes really helped me gain confidence in the lead up to the birth of my second child. I always left her classes feeling extreemly positive and calm.

I was recommended the Lazy Daisy classes by a friend and they have truly been amazing. Claire is a great instructor and could not be any more helpful or knowledgeable. I am sadly coming to the end of my course but I have to say I have learnt so much and I am feeling more informed and confident about my birthing experience. I do not relax easily as a person but the classes have made me more relaxed and taught me some really beneficial exercises which I can practice at home. The breathing techniques we have covered in class have been amazing and have helped me so much to relax and in stressful work situations.
Following each class Claire sends out a full recap of the session which is excellent as baby brain kicks in from time to time! Claire is really brilliant and I cannot thank her enough for her for all her help and support!

Claire creates a welcoming and relaxing environment to not only learn invaluable exercises of how to manage and control the daunting experience of labour but also as a place to unwind, and relax. I look forward to every class and always leave feeling confident and calm, which is a huge change from the way I felt about labour 6 weeks ago! I would definitely recommend attending these classes to any expectant mums. I absolutely loved the course, so much so that I've booked on to next term and a couples workshop.
It's my last class of the first term tonight and I am very glad the next term starts next week and will take me right up to my end of pregnancy term as it's such a nice part of the week to go and relax and focus on you and your baby, and makes you feel more confident to deal with what is to come. I like to keep active and this class gives you some strong but gentle exercises that help you adapt to your body and you can easily practice them at home too. The class provides practical, positive techniques to cope with labour. Claire has been a fantastic teacher - she makes the class about you and makes it fun while giving lots of helpful advice. She also seems to have a very soothing voice making some of our class fall asleep in the lovely relaxation section at the end! She's just about to move to a bigger studio right next door which I think will be so much better and allow more people to join in this great experience.
I am nearing the end of my first term of Lazy Daisy classes with Claire and have found them to be excellent. I decided on lazy daisy classes because I wanted to take part in an anti-natal class that helped me to prepare for a more active birth as well as provide me with some gentle exercises during pregnancy. The classes also provide a relaxation time in the week and I always leave feeling calm and positive. Claire delivers both a professional and friendly class atmosphere. I cannot speak highly enough of Claire as a teacher and her positive approach. She answers any questions we may have with informative answers. I am already thinking of staying for a second term to continue practising the exercises I have already learnt.
