Broomfield Park has a traditional playground with swings, slides and roundabouts. There is also a cafeteria, public toilets with facilities for disabled people & baby changing and a lake.

Other facilities in the park include an adventure golf course, a yachting pond (used for model boats), a basketball court, a football pitch, a bowling green, 9 netball courts and 12 tennis courts.

The Victorian Conservatory contains features including a waterfall, fish pond and a display of unusual plants from all over the world. Bananas can sometimes be seen growing in the conservatory during summer months.

The Bandstand was built on the side of the lower lake during 1928. The bandstand is still in use today and summer concerts take place in the holiday period.

Hi Broidery, many thanks for your great review, and for the clarification about the playground areas available (and the cake, which is very important!)

I live 5 mins away from Broomfield Park and it's brilliant. I would like to add that Broomfield Park only has the one playground - there is no adventure playground. The playground is quite large and has swings, slides, climbing frames and is very well maintained. There's a cafe kiosk called Palmers Greenery near the boating lake, which serves excellent coffee and cake.
