Enfield

The borough of Enfield is London's most northerly and can trace its origins back to Roman times. It has a rich industrial past and is also the former hunting ground to the Kings of England. Two thirds of Enfield is open spaces or designated green belt land with a wealth of country and urban parks, farmland and fields which everyone can enjoy.

Enfield is as rich in history as it is in present day entertainment with a choice of events, several museums, cinemas and sports facilities for all the family. Kids and adults alike will love the range of drama, dance, puppet shows and musicals on offer at some of the borough's theatres, including the Millfield Arts Centre, Chickenshed and the Dugdale Centre.

Uncover the borough's history at Forty Hall Museum and take a stroll around its beautiful estate. Enfield is renowned for its parks and gardens, perfect for walks and picnics with the kids when the weather is good, and include those at Capel Manor. These cover 30 acres and feature a Japanese, historical and disabled persons' garden.

For the more adventurous, Trent Country Park offers walking, cycling, horse riding and fishing, as well as the exhilarating treetop adventure that is Go Ape!
