Pizza Stein

Exeter Centre

Following strict Napoli rules, Pizza Stein prides itself on only using the very best ingredients, including San Marzano tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella, cooked on hand-rolled, home-made dough in an Italian wood burning pizza oven.

You'll also find delicious salads and boards featuring Italian cured meats, ham, olives, breads and more on the menu. As well as a range of draft lagers from Germany, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy and Belgium served in a stein (holding two pints).

Kids eat free (with an adult meal) if they fit under the restaurant's marble counter top.

Not only that, children can also have a go at making their own pizza, preparing the dough, spreading, tearing and sprinkling on the toppings and then see it placed inside the huge oven.

The owners are determined to make Pizza Stein enjoyable for parents and children, recreating the relaxed atmosphere of a family-run Italian restaurant. Plus it's the perfect location for a family day out on the Quay.

Watch this space for more information on a dedicated kids play area coming soon.

    21-Apr-2016 Report

Had a great time with my 3.5 year old at Pizza Stein. He got to make his own pizza - preparing the dough with his fingertips, spreading the tomato base and tearing the mozzarella. I don't do that much cooking with my boys but he really enjoyed the whole process. Then, when it was ready - he ate most of up, without any of the usual coaxing or bribery (!) I think the fact he'd got involved made it more interesting for him (and perhaps he was less suspicious than usual!). Plus, it was a delicious pizza.

Pizza Stein is a unique place - not only do they engage kids by involving them in the cooking, they also follow strict Napoli rules. This means they only source the best ingredients and everything is beautifully fresh.

So refreshing to go to a restaurant that welcomes children but also serves delicious healthy food.

The location is great too - right by the Cathedral & Quay car park for easy access but on the Quay so nice for a walk, scoot, bike ride or clip n climb.
