    26-Jun-2013 Report

The first Falkland Traditional Music Festival takes place in Falkland this weekend with a wide variety of events. We have a ceilidh dance on the Friday night with the Lomond Ceilidh Band. Then on Saturday morning we will be running workshops on fiddle, accordion, small pipes & whistle, traditional song and storytelling. There will be an afternoon of traditional singing and instrumental competitions as well as music sessions in The Bruce Inn and The Lomond Tavern. Saturday will finish with a Traditional Concert in the evening which will include performances from competition winners as well as invited guests and will close with The Foundry Band. Sheila Kinninmonth, a local storyteller, will be holding free storytelling sessions on Saturday from 2pm onwards at the Stables on Falkland Estate, ending with a Bedtime Storytime at 6pm to prepare the little ones for sleep. See our Facebook page.
