I am a French native (M.A) with a superb command of English (T.E.F.L.A) and a true vocation for teaching my mother tongue to children, teenagers and adults.

I offer day time and evening classes at every level- from complete beginners to advanced ( fluent).

All students are invited to an informal assessment before joining a group at their level.

The aims of all my courses are to ensure, first and foremost, that my students enjoy learning French, speak throughout the lesson and leave the class feeling confident, feeling that they have learned something new and that they have had a great time. I focus a great deal on speaking and understanding spoken French.

Paty is a wonderful teacher! I've learnt a huge amount from my lessons with her - from pronunciation to grammar to general confidence. My children started off having classes with her a couple of years ago, and they've found these so helpful - it made a huge difference to my oldest when she began secondary school - that I decided to start too. She puts a huge amount of thought into planning what she teaches and how to get it across clearly, and (major) gaps in my rusty school French are being filled in a way that (finally!) makes sense. She's also great fun, supportive and really understands how language-learning works. I'd highly recommend her for both children or grown-ups.

I have been taking adult intermediate lessons with Paty for about 2 years. I love it. Her sessions are great fun and nothing like learning french at school. We watch videos and discuss current affairs affecting France. There are lots of opportunities to speak in the sessions and because Paty is a native speaker who has lived in the UK for so long she is able to explain pronunciation in a very intuitive way. Since doing the lessons my French and my confidence to speak French has improved enormously. If you want to learn French I truly believe you will not find a better teacher.

It started with Madeleine, now aged 9yrs: then quickly moved onto Charlie, now aged 7yrs - they were having such fun that I didn't want to miss out! So I too attend Paty's french classes - Both my children love Paty's classes and always come home happy, chatty and singing away in french! I love her adult class - which I attend Saturday morning at 9am! My friends comment that these classes must be great when they see my commitment to them! They are great! They are fun, valuable, interesting and I learn huge amounts in a stimulating environment.....my french friends are very impressed with how much progress I have made - it's lovely to chat to them and understand their jokes too!
