We run swimming lessons for Primary School children weekdays after-school in our warm teaching pool on Mattison Road. We run 3 courses a year in line with the school timetable, and intensive crash courses during the holidays. We follow the STA Awards Program as we believe this best suits our style of teaching. We have a small, dedicated team of Instructors who teach with a gentle,'hands on' approach and will take the time to get to know your child in order to get the best out of them. Our lessons are fun, challenging and we specialise in teaching excellent stroke technique. We try our best to be a friendly, affordable, community based swim school and teach all levels from complete Beginner to Advanced. Due to demand for our classes we do sometimes have a waiting list but we would love to hear from you and share our passion for swimming. Call Karen on 07757727782 or email for more details.

I have been taking my children here for just over a year. My daughter learnt to swim within one term and now she has mastered front crawl, back crawl and is working on breast stroke. My son has learning difficulties and was very scared of the water, Karen and her team are absolutely brilliant with him. They know exactly how much they can push him so he makes progress without being scared. Both children love going to their lessons and have made some new friends from other local schools. I was recommended to try Karen's lessons by a friend and I am happy to pass on this recommendation.
I've been sending my son, now 9, to Karen and the team at Selkie swim school for several years and I am very happy with the choice. He has progressed well and continues to love swimming - and the pyjama lessons have proved an effective way to introduce lifesaving elements to the experience. he loves the fun swim at the end of each term and the instructors get involved in the general splash about - but keeping an eye on proceedings. I would highly recommend.
