My son is 6, and he feels very happy with the experienced team at Selkie! I can't thank enough the teachers for their patience and endless support. Every time he feels a little bit scarred and insecure, they would help him, reassure him and calm him! We've had more than a year of fun there and I can't wait to return back in September! My son is making a very good progress and is feeling very happy there! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
Both my girls have learnt to swim with Selkie - this a wonderful swimming school which will win over even the most anxious beginner, but moves the children up to meet challenges promptly so that they are always stimulated. The fun swim and the lifesaver sessions are particular favourites. All the teachers are great - I keep on and on recommending them. Soooo much better than lessons we tried earlier in other schools, where the teachers were outside the water shouting at the kids!!! Keep up the good work Karen, Sally and all.
Both our boys have been going to Selkie for some years now and really love it. Great teachers who make a fun, welcoming environment that builds confidence in the water as well as developing good swimming technique. I can't recommend them highly enough.
Both my daughters have been going to Selkie Swim School for years. My eldest is 11 and is in the advanced class having started when she was 4 and wasnt even water safe. The teachers are all brilliant with the kids and the pool is relatively small which means its completely un-daunting for new swimmers. Even though my 11 yr old is a very confident swimmer she wants to continue swimming at Selkie Swim School because she loves her teacher and she has a lovely gaggle of local friends she only gets to see during swimming time.
Can't recommended this swimming school enough! My daughter is in her third year here and my son has just started. The teachers are wonderful, excellent swimming teachers as well as being brilliant with the children. They both love going, and for my daughter, swimming is still the highlight of her week.
We've tried Virgin Active, Park Road, Highgate School and this is by far the best place to send your kids to swim. The teachers are great, and my daughter's swimming has improved in 1 term, what it previously took a year to achieve elsewhere.
I have been taking my children here for just over a year. My daughter learnt to swim within one term and now she has mastered front crawl, back crawl and is working on breast stroke. My son has learning difficulties and was very scared of the water, Karen and her team are absolutely brilliant with him. They know exactly how much they can push him so he makes progress without being scared. Both children love going to their lessons and have made some new friends from other local schools. I was recommended to try Karen's lessons by a friend and I am happy to pass on this recommendation.
I've been sending my son, now 9, to Karen and the team at Selkie swim school for several years and I am very happy with the choice. He has progressed well and continues to love swimming - and the pyjama lessons have proved an effective way to introduce lifesaving elements to the experience. he loves the fun swim at the end of each term and the instructors get involved in the general splash about - but keeping an eye on proceedings. I would highly recommend.
