Sandridge Evening WI invites visitors to a talk on The Early days of Woodcock Hill.
The Woodcock Hill monitoring station played an important role in Bletchley's decipherment of German codes. During WWII an Experimental Direction Finding Station was built for the RSS (Radio Security Service) ant the GPO built a separate listening station on the Woodcock Hill site. A bigger Foreign Office intercept station was built nearby in 1939. Hear all about the activities on Woodcock Hill in this talk organised by the local branch of the WI.
