13-22 October 2016

Talks by renowned authors, film, music, comedy and more...

The ArchWay With Words annual festival features literature, science, history, comedy, poetry, theatre, film and music in a week long odyssey of fascinating events.

Between them our illustrious guests have - literally - sold millions of books, won shelves-full of awards and entertained people all over the world.
More than 40 events will take place at various Archway venues with most only a fiver and many absolutely free.
Come and meet some superstar wordsmiths and spellbinding speakers! You can also let your own creativity blossom in writing workshops and singing opportunities.

The Crime Writer, by Gill Dawson, 'a beautifully crafted and utterly riveting blend of fact and fiction about a fascinating 20th century figure', is the subject of just one of the festival talks. Come and meet the writer of this playful and brilliant meditation on the creative mind.

Also Patrice Lawrence talks about her dazzling debut novel, 'Orangeboy', about Marlon, a 16 year old who is fascinated by how the brain works, loves his dad's old records and has promised his mum he'll never follow his brother down the wrong path...
