Kingston Upon Thames has many indoor and outdoor family activities for babies, toddlers and children as well as excellent schools, colleges and a University. It is just 25 minutes from central London by train.
One of only four Royal Boroughs in England and Wales, Kingston is bordered by three Royal Parks; Bushy Park, Home Park and Richmond Park. Perfect for picnics, nature, walks, weekend family bike rides and kick abouts with other children. Local playgrounds, leisure centres, sailing clubs and the nearby Chessington World of Adventures ensure there lots to do for children of all ages.
Kingston sits alongside a three mile stretch of the River Thames. It hosts an annual regatta and dragon boat race. Canbury Gardens and Queen's Promenade have many family friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants, and there's a piazza at Charter Quay. Boats are available for family hire or for trips to Richmond or Hampton Court.

Kingston the market town dates from over 800 years ago. It now contains more than 500 shops, 2 shopping malls (including the excellent Bentall Centre) and an ancient market place, renowned for its food and home to key town events and exciting specialist markets. The borough is also a centre for arts and culture for the whole family and houses a cinema & entertainment complex in the Rotunda.
