Come to the Royal School of Needlework(RSN) at Hampton Court Palace and see your favourite stories brought to life with the Art of Hand Embroidery.
From 19 September 2016 to 31 March 2017, Stories in Stitch will showcase a wide range of Hand Embroideries in Appliqué, Stumpwork and Raised Embroidery, featuring pieces from the RSN's Archive Collection and its Students.
Visitors will immerse themselves in these three enchanting techniques which lend themselves so perfectly to the world of storytelling. Whether the piece tells the whole story or just a vignette, visitors will be captivated by embroideries based on songs, nursery rhymes, film scenes and ranging from the mythical to the domestic.
The 1.5hr Exhibition Tour is open for one week of every month at 11am and 2pm, booking is essential for access to the Palace.
There are 2hr Curators Tours 22/10 and 5/11.
There are full day Tour & Tasters whereby you visit the Exhibition in the morning followed by have a 'Taster' hand embroidery class in the afternoon on 18/10 and 15/11.
