Postnatal Dance in a Sling

Borough wide

disabled access

Starting again in September (2016) this is a class to bring together the needs of parent and baby. It encourages you to connect with your own needs while bonding with your baby through contact and joyful movement as we dance to varied music and combine the three planes of movement - from floor to upright to give variety while increasing strength, flexibility and tone and to help bring natural ease and joy to the everyday activities of parenting.

Classes are designed for parents with pre-walking babies who are easily lifted, carried in a sling and danced around.

What to Expect:
We dance barefoot on a lovely wooden floor with underfloor heating - this is very beneficial for the health of our feet and positively affects our posture and walking stance. There are mats for our floorplay. Please bring a sling for natural contact with your baby while we dance some simple sequences and to give your arms a rest. Please feel free to feed or change your baby if needed during the class. Clothing layers are a good idea so you can remove them as you get warm and replace them if needed.

Our Postnatal Dance teacher is Nefra Canning.

Times and prices are subject to change. Contact venue before setting out.
