Rockets for Father’s Day

Further Afield

The Lovell Telescope's first act was to track the carrier rocket of Sputnik 1, witnessing the dawn of the Space Age in 1957. At the time it was the only instrument in the world capable of doing so.

Come along to this activity to have a go at making and launching your own rocket together, and watch it's transit just as the Lovell Telescope observed the transit of rockets in the past.

Sessions run at 10.30, 11.15, 12.00, 12.45, 13.30, 14.15, 15.00 and 15.45 and last for 30 minutes.
