New nursery opens in Mitcham

Monkey Puzzle Nursery has officially opened its doors to families in Mitcham, following a £150,000 finance loan from HSBC.

The funding has been used to develop the new site and purchase equipment for the nursery including the outdoor playground facilities. The nursery can accommodate 74 children and will create 20 new jobs for the local community.

Founded by husband and wife Kerubu and Sherry Owolabi, the nursery will provide a much-needed education resource and contribute to Mitcham's ongoing regeneration. The nursery will work closely with parents, staff and regulator Ofsted to deliver high quality childcare in an environment where children can learn, develop and grow to meet their full potential.

Kerubu Owolabi, Co-Founder of Monkey Puzzle, said: “We're thrilled to open our new nursery and welcome local families. HSBC's support has been integral to the development of Monkey Puzzle Mitcham, from the initial planning stages when we were looking for a suitable site, to the very final coats of paint. With the funding we've been able to create a modern nursery, ensuring the children in our care will get the best materials and teaching required to support their development.”
