Merton

Merton offers the best of London life against a green canvas more usually associated with leafy Surrey. Bounded by Wimbledon to the north, Mitcham to the east and Morden to the south, it is home to the Wombles and the All England Tennis and Croquet Club. The Borough's heritage dates back to the Romans. It includes the Augustinian Merton Abbey, nearby printing works used by Liberty and William Morris, and Merton's most famous resident: Horatio Nelson.

Wimbledon and Mitcham Commons and Morden Hall Park are local havens. New Wimbledon Theatre and the HMVCurzon and Odeon (including IMAX screen) entertain Mertonians and visitors alike. Conservation areas, varied neighbourhoods, some of the best schools in London, solid and varied housing stock and excellent transport links with London and surrounding counties, attract those seeking work/life balance.

Merton families are well catered for. Soft-play centres such as Eddie Catz, Polka and Colour House Theatres, many sporting activities including community football leagues, Deen City Farm, Merton Music Foundation and AFC Wimbledon (in nearby Kingston) offer family-friendly entertainment. Annual events such as Winter Wonderland, Merton Abbey KidsFest and Wimbledon BookFest delight. Cultural gems include Merton Abbey Mills, River Wandle and its wildlife, the Windmill Museum, Buddhapadipa Temple and Baitul Futuh Mosque.
