Newcastle city library is more than just a place to borrow books. As well as having a wide range of fiction, non fiction, ebooks, audiobooks and graphic novels, there is also a large selection of Local Studies and Family History resources available for loan. Free access to the internet, plenty of cosy places to sit and read, in this bright, airy modern building.

Monday to Thursday:8.30am - 8pm
Friday:8:30am - 5:30pm
Saturday:9.30am - 5.30pm
Sunday:11am - 5pm

There are a wide variety of activities run by the library service, from Reading groups for both adults and children, Storytime, Reading Activists for teens, Silver surfers for over 50's, Children's homework help, exhibitions and visiting lectures by Newcastle University, as well as events organised for during the school holidays for children.
There is a also a cafe within the library.
