Jesmond Dene Park, Newcastle, NE7 7DA
24-May-13 to 24-May-15
Morning till evening.
Jesmond Dene is a wonderful park just outside of the city centre. The park is beautifully landscaped and originally belonged to Lord Armstrong ( Cragside) before he gave it to the citizens of Newcastle. The planting is quite reminiscent of Cragside in places, with pathways meandering through wooded areas, as well as the River Ouseburn trickling through. There is the old mill building, the ruin of the banqueting hall and a waterfall.
The park contains a play area, a Pets Corner, which has animal pens and an aviary, Nature Area, Cafe and toilet facilities, as well as Ouseburn Park Visitors Centre, which have organise activities throughout the year, especially during school holidays.
There is plenty of space to run around in the park, play ball games or ride around on the lovely pathways on bikes or scooters.
