Family estrangement can be difficult to talk about and many adults who have become estranged or disowned choose to conceal their experience from others. We offer a non-judgemental space to meet others in a similar position and share thoughts and experiences with a specialised counsellor. We run two distinct groups: one for adults estranged from their children/grandchildren; another for children who have disowned or cut contact with their parents/grandparents. Themes are followed to work through, such as Mothers Day & Father's Day, Reconciliation, How can I explain, the living loss: grieving and acceptance. The groups run monthly on alternate evenings; please contact to enrol and be allocated to an appropriate group.
There is a nominal charge to enrol, which is refundable to those on benefits, but the sessions themselves are free as subsidised by Big Lottery Fund. The workshops are run by Community Counselling Cooperative CIC with Stand Alone charity.

Times and prices are subject to change. Contact venue before setting out.
