Barbara Anna Cichocka

Norfolk wide

Barbara's paintings endeavour to convey the emotions registered when she engages with her subjects. She is fascinated by flowers, their magnificent forms and colours, and has been refining her skills in botanical art. For her, nature holds an endless supply of inspiration. Barbara's figurative paintings focusing on the basic characteristics of human often tread the line between tenderness and sexuality.

Barbara is heavily inspired by the richly coloured and exquisitely detailed paintings of the Pre-Raphaelites and greatly admires Rembrandt for his ability to convey personality in his many portraits. She also finds great inspiration in the then brave use of colour by the Impressionists, in particular Claude Monet, Edgar Degas and Pierre-August Renoir.

Barbara is a member of the West Norfolk Artists Association and exhibits her work locally throughout the year.
