Black Knight Historical Re-enactment

Attleborough

disabled access

The Black Knight Historical Re-enactment Group will be back to 'œmake history happen' at Wymondham Abbey. They will be recreating some of the sights, sounds and stories of the mid-1400s. This was a time of growth when Wymondham parishioners finally sorted out some of their differences with the monks next door, enlarged the parish church and built the massive west tower to house the parish bells.

There will be dance and music performed on reproduction medieval instruments (similar to some of those shown in the carvings in the roof), a falconry display (remember last year's naughty vulture?), archery, colourful costumes and a fully-armed soldier.

The scary physician/surgeon will bring along his collection of bleeding fleams and saws, and potions for everything from piles to the bite of a mad dog. His advice is free - take it if you dare!

The event is funded by Wymondham High Academy.

Times and prices are subject to change. Contact venue before setting out.
