Huffkins is an independent family business with our own craft bakery and a heritage that stretches back to 1890.
we still bake everything by hand using the finest ingredients. Our bakers work through the night, producing everything from the bread we use to make our sandwiches to the most intricate tiered wedding cakes.
In the kitchens our chefs use fresh and seasonal ingredients sourced locally to prepare our dishes. That's why, for instance, you'll find Gloucester Old Spot sausage in our flour dusted baps and if you ask for ketchup or salad dressing you'll be served our own homemade recipe.
Our specials boards allow us to offer the best local produce as soon as it becomes available. Our teas are blended with fine local ingredients including Cotswold fruits and lavender from Snowshill near Broadway.
Huffkins is a glorious purveyor of a fine English institution - afternoon tea in all its finery. With now four cafes - Burford and Witney in Oxfordshire, and two in Gloucestershire, there are several lovely locations to choose from.
I've been visiting for years and have never had bad service or food. I've enjoyed lots of clotted cream scones, Assam tea, toasted teacakes, and delicious cakes various, and you should at least try a Lardy cake, a local speciality.
The Burford cafe is a particularly friendly cafe for families, especially on a quieter day when there aren't so many tourists around. They keep toys and books for small children and have high chairs available. On my first visit with my newborn child, they were thoroughly accommodating, didn't mind me feeding in the cafe, and as we left they offered us a tin of their house blend loose leaf tea and some biscuits as a little gift of congratulations, which was much appreciated.
Highly recommended for everything from light meals to cake, scones, and excellent tea and coffee!
